Dear Church Family, Andrew and Peter were brothers and partners, yet they were vast-ly different from one another. Andrew was the quiet, behind-the-scenes type. Peter was the outspoken, leader-of-the-pack type. Andrew was content be-hind the stage. Peter was com-fortable center stage. Simon Pe-ter’s name is at the head of eve-ry list of the apostles in the New Testament. Andrew made the top twelve. You can read about Peter on almost every page of the gospels. Poor Andrew is hardly ever mentioned. And when he is, he’s usually brand-ed: “Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother…” Peter was always in the spot-light. Andrew was like a search-light. Andrew found and followed John the Baptist. Then Andrew was one of the first to follow Je-sus. Andrew found his brother, Peter, and told him about Jesus. Andrew found the boy with the lunch basket that God used to feed thousands. Peter stood up and spoke up with boldness. An-drew sought out what needed to be done and helped out until it was done. God has a plan and a place for all of us. He values the Andy’s as much as the Pete’s. We are all uniquely qualified to serve God. It would take more than a newsletter to shine the spotlight on all the groups of “Andrews”

within our church family. These are the people who truly make Lake Fork Baptist Church a special place to worship. Among the many groups, allow me to mention a few who serve behind the scenes every week. First, our maintenance and cus-todial staff who clean the facili-ties, pick up after us, fix what quits working, mows what grows, fight off ladybugs and crickets, and arrive early to un-lock a lot of doors, turn on a lot of lights, and set a lot of ther-mostats only to stay late and re-verse the process. Second, our volunteer builders who gather every week and knock out major and minor projects on our cam-pus, at the homes of needy indi-viduals, and at camps and wom-en’s shelters. Third, our kitchen crew who keep quite a busy schedule with weekly, monthly, and special events large and small. Fourth, our van drivers who arrive early on Wednes-days, drive in all directions to pick up children and youth so they can have a good meal and hear about Jesus, and then take the kiddos back to their homes without getting to their own home until long after the rest of us have slipped into our house slippers.

Four “Andrew” groups out of so many others who serve the Lord so well. I am thankful for all the “Andrews” who are doers of the word and not hearers only.

This group is for all those suffering from addictions & their families. Families are affected & need recovery too.

I would like to invite you to come join us on Friday nights. You'll be glad you did. Child

care is provided for infants through 5

Prayer Shawl Ministry So much has happened! Dan Bolin along with a group have been go-ing to minister to the poor here in our area. This ministry has been trying to provide scarves and hats to be passed out to keep these people warm, some have no electricity during these cold nights. Win-ter is about over but we need to continue to make these scarves and hats so when winter comes again next year Dan and his group will be armed with these warm items. They also need food and whatever you can think of that we take for granted, so many children. See Dan for more information about this ministry. If you are a crotchetier and do not feel comfortable making prayer shawls, make a scarf! We will sew a scripture and prayer to each scarf so whoever receives on can feel the love of Jesus! Continue to listen to our Lord when He places someone on your heart that is hurting, troubled, sick or just needs to know that there is a Mighty God who sent His Son for US! Bless you all for all you do!! Continue to Glorify God in His Ministry! Annie McNown Prayer Shawls Given Out: 2009

Living Lord’s Supper

Join us Wednesday, March 28th

at 6:30pm for a live re-enactment

of the Lord’s Last Supper.

Feed My Sheep

Food Pantry

LFBC now has a food pantry. It

is open to church members &

local community members on the

2nd & 4th Tuesdays of the month

from 1:00 pm—4:00 pm in the

Family Life Center. FMS also

has a backpack food program for

local school children.

Thanks to all who are donating to

FMS with food, monetarily or with

prayers.

Brotherhood Breakfast

Our last breakfast was shared with men and women in recog-nition of Valentine’s Day. We had a great meal prepared by our kitchen crew and an inspi-rational testimonial by one of our ladies. We meet again next month, so come join us. Bro. George

Volunteer Builders We have been blessed with many opportunities to serve this new year. Our opportuni-ties continue and we wel-come you to join us in our fellowship. We have a lot of fun while serving in our church and community. In His Name, Bro. George

Thanks so much to everyone who came out for our going-away celebration for Matt and Shelbi. We are so thankful for the time we had them here and will continue to pray for God to use them as they begin their new ministry in Kilgore. Now, our work begins to find our next Youth Minister for Lake Fork Baptist. In-formation has been sent to our state Baptist conven-tions, seminaries, and other Baptist web sources. The position and job description are also posted on our website for anyone who knows someone who might feel led to apply. We are currently receiving resumes and will continue until we have a good number of can-didates that we feel are qualified for the position. In the meantime, we are accepting applications for an Interim Youth Minister. A job description and applica-tion is in the church foyer. We have a great group of youth workers in Sunday School and on Wednesday nights that are already working with our youth. We al-so have a great team of youth parents who will fill in the gap. Thanks to our Builders who have been working in our preschool area to make our spaces more safe and us-able. We have taken one large room and divided it in-to two rooms separating our bed babies and toddlers. This will help our nursery workers tremendously with child care and handling of multiple little ones. The Builders have also framed up our new hallway that goes across the back of the Education Building. This will allow our adults an easy passage from the back stairs to the worship center without having to pass through the Preschool/Children’s area. Con-struction will continue for a couple of more weeks, but it is looking great!
