April was another busy month in the life of the Club between meetings, classes, videos, parties, busy Fridays & birth-day celebrations. I think most attendees at the birthday celebrations would agree that it is a great venue not only to celebrate birthdays, but anniversaries and for new members to get acquainted with the club. The cost of running this

event is minimal but the reward is great. Easter came early this year which usually marks the time when many of you will be returning north, as I said last year at this time “bye, bye Birdies”, non dimenticarci, arrivederci… Have a great summer & we’ll see you in the Fall all rested & renewed! Returning this Fall: Italian Cooking Classes

This was a popular event last season! Instructions on the art of baking and preparation of Italian Dishes lead by Joe DiMarco. The classes will be held at the IAC club at a cost of $5.00 per person. Class size is limited and more information will follow as we get closer to the date.

Fabulous Fifties Festino on April 10th was en-

joyed by over 100 festive rock & rollers! After a delicious Bar-B-Que dinner and a “make your own Sundae Bar” the party got rolling with several well known “oldies” but “goodies” not only in reference to the music but the peo-

ple! Pony tails, poodle skirts & pedalpushers were well represented as were bobby socks, blue jeans & bad boys! Check the photo for Peggy Sue (aka Phyllis) and her bad

boy Al who danced up a storm. Peggy Sue flipped over the special guest performance by ELVIS singing Jailhouse Rock & encore Can’t Help Falling In Love With You which everyone joined in at Elvis’s urging! Thanks Elvis! (aka Tom C!) Music by Spotlight Entertainment kept the party hopping with songs from the 50’s, when you could under-stand the words! The club was transformed into a pink &

black musical 50’s theme by Linda. The committee of Diane Houston, Barbara Terzi, Barbara Moccia and Linda Bastian put together a great theme party! Many thanks to all who helped throughout the night, too

many to name but couldn’t have done it without you!

APRIL BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION!!

There were 70 attendees at this month’s birthday celebration. The group was

treated to corned beef and barbecue pork, along with baked beans & trim-

mings.. The cake was blueberry. (tort?) Everything was delizioso.

Three couples celebrated anniversaries this month: Tom & Dee Martorana,

Bob & Diane Houston and Joe & Pat Mastrorilli.

New members John Farrow, Frannie Santilli, Nina Arberger, Michele

Clarke, Rosemarie Francavilla, and Eda Scott took the opportunity to get

acquainted with fellow members.

Those having birthdays in April and appearing at the party were:

The pallina was rolling on Saturday March 27th!

It was a beautiful sunny day under the pines and the

very successful Bocce Tournament was attended by 60-70 eager participants and cheering fans! Venetian Falls sent several teams over to take on the Italian Club, who proved in the end that experience counts! Winning was secondary to the enjoyment of the day! Tasty treats and beverages were served picnic style and everyone went home happy! Great job Justin, Marino & all the helpers!
