Welcome back everyone! It was great to see no slings, plaster casts, crutches or stitches after the holiday break! While it would have

been great to see some rain, the weather gods certainly looked favourably on us too. Over the holidays we had the Community Crew from the Department of Justice who did some work around our grounds. They did some mowing, pressure washed the basketball court, whipper snipped and did some gardening. A big thank you to Gary and the crew for their help. Paul Irwin and Tim Daws mowed the oval and down behind the classrooms last weekend. Zoi Tricarico and Tim Daws also watered the vegetable garden over the break. Efforts like these is what makes our school such the unique and amazing community it is. Thank you so much to you all!

Our mowing roster is working really well. If you don’t have a mower but are happy to

help with whipper snipping, blow vaccing, weeding, spraying or helping the lawn mowers please let me know. I will add you to the roster and put you in contact with the lawn mowers. On the last day of Term 3 Junior School Council hosted our annual Footy Day. Harry Mc and Hamish organised the day including the activities, groups and collecting the gold coin donations. You did a terrific job Harry Mc and Hamish, well done! We raised $264.00 for Kids with Cancer from our gold coin donations and Hot dog money. Thank you to Bonnie Morgan and Woolworths at the Market Place for donating our Hot Dogs and Rolls.

Part of our Footy Day was also announcing our 2018 K.C.P.S. Footy Tipping Competition results. In short, the jackpot was shared in the last 2 Rounds of the season. Final ladder is as follows: Tradie

Sam held his lead winning the competition for the second year in a row with 144 tips; second position was shared between Bomber 10, Digger’s Rooboys and GAMS on 138 tips and then in third position was Rocket and Two Tigers with 137 tips. This year’s Wooden Spoon winner is Irene Leijen with 93 tips. There is a full summary of results included in this newsletter. Thank you to everyone who was part of this year’s KCPS Footy Tipping Competition. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Emila O who has earnt her Grey Wolf badge. To attain this award she has been challenged, shown self-discipline, teamwork and leadership. She is a member of 1st Kialla Cub Pack. This is an outstanding achievement Emila, well done!

Final payment for the Grade 3/4 Billabong Camp is due this Wednesday 10th October. We have 75 students and 9 adults are going on camp this year. We leave for Billabong Ranch on

Wednesday 17th and return on Friday 19th October. I have arranged for one of the buses to pick up and drop us off at Kialla Central to make it easier for our families. All of the permission and medical forms have been returned. Before the holidays, I sent home the list of what students are required to bring including a refillable drink bottle, snacks and lunch in disposable containers for the first day. Please ensure clothing is sunsmart and all items are clearly named. It is important that your child knows what their belongings look like so they can identify them and look after them. Also remember no valuables, money or lollies are required. All medications must have a KCPS Medication form and be given to Miss Baker or myself.
