Fair, diverse and nuanced representation matters The Intercultural Trends and Media Platform Khadija Amahal ERAS MUS VIRTUAL EXCHANGE CROSS-CULTURAL TRAINER ( MOROCCO) Khadija Amahal is a Moroccan citizen holding a Master degree in Applied Linguistics and English Language Teaching. She joined the Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange in 2018 as a team leader. Few months later, and after receiving the Training of Trainers, she became a debate trainer. Today, she is a master trainer who supervises other trainers. During the third edition of the ALF online Euro-Med debate competition, she took the role of the Chief Reporter; she supervised the competition’s moderators and reporters and assured the reception of reports in the right format. Throughout her journey in the E+VE, Khadija proudly delivered more than 20 online sessions. Khadija has a great interest in the media. She participated in an 8 months citizen journalism program in Morocco and took part in an online storytelling training where she had been in contact with participants from different countries in the MENA region. Nabil Al-Sharif has an extensive background in public service. This includes positions as Minister of Media Affairs & Government Spokesperson of The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and member of the Upper House of Jordan’s Parliament. Al-Sharif has also served Jordan’s Foreign Service in the capacity of Ambassador to Morocco, Mauritania and Senegal. Previously, Al-Sharif has also worked as Editor-in- Chief of the Ad-Dustour newspaper, which is an Arabic- language daily in Jordan. He was also the cultural editor of a local Jordanian daily and wrote extensively both in Arabic and English on the need for enhancing intercultural dialogue. Dr Al-Sharif obtained his PhD and MA in English Literature from Indiana University in the US. He also taught at three Jordanian universities for a number of years.

Alberto Capote has a Master in Sociology and holds a doctorate in Human Geography from the University of Granada in Spain. He is currently a teacher-researcher in the Department of Human Geography at the same university. He did his post-doctorate at Hassan II University in Casablanca (Morocco). He is editor-in-chief of the journal Riem (International Journal of Migration Studies) of the University of Almería (Spain). Iason Athanasiadis is a photojournalist, documentary-maker and writer working on the intersection of the Eastern Mediterranean with the Arab, Persian and Turkic Middle East. Fluent in Arabic, Persian and Turkish, he covered some of the contemporary region’s signature crises and lived in Cairo, Damascus, Libya's Tripoli, Sanaa and Tehran. He was twice-honoured with the Anna Lindh Foundation Mediterranean Journalism award and is currently based between Athens, Istanbul and Tunis.

Marjus Ceveli is a human rights activist who spent one year in Serbia with a peace building program, and before he worked one year with an Italian NGO for the integration of the children of the Roma community in a small village in Albania.He participated in different exchanges and training with civil society organizations in Spain, Denmark, Hungary, Poland, Iran, Kosovo and Austria. He also participated in the first Western Balkans Fund Civil Society Summit that took place last February in Tirana (Albania), representing a Serbian NGO. As a Facilitator he facilitated the following E+VE courses: Newcomers and Nationalism, Cultural Encounters Perspectives on Populism, Advancing GenderIn/Equality in Media and Journalism, Youth Peace and Security and Sustainable Food Systems.

Bayan Tal has more than 40 years of media and communication experience. She started as a journalist and later media executive at Jordan Radio and Television Corporation (JRTVC). She is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Crown Prince Foundation.
