NACHIKETA TAPOVAN

A Non-Profitable Spiritually Oriented Service Organization, Nachiketa Tapovan, formed in 1999 ,is the fruit of an inner calling of Pujya Swami Nachiketananda Puri.

Our core activities are :

♣ Free basic education (Vidya Mandir), for needy children from weaker sections of our society. 

♣ Around 262 children receive free S.S.C board, English medium education from Nursery to class X along with yoga, pranayam, crafts, and culture lessons. 

♣ They are provided with free meals twice a week sponsored by Donors to the "Annadanam" scheme.

♣ Rural Development comprising of free health care services and free education and vocational training in one of the most backward rural regions, Mehaboobnagar Dist. of Telangana State in India. Presently we have nearly 150 children from L.K.G. to 3rd grade obtaining free education.

VISION:

Our vision is to eliminate illiteracy in the backward areas and make the people self dependent

MISSION:

Help underprivileged children by providing free education.

Conduct free dispensary and medication to the poor on a regular basis.

Provide vocational training to backward and tribal people.

Good health and education brings innovative and sustainable self-help solutions to the people.

Principles:

1. Holistic approach – We work towards making the children professionally sound, spiritually

aware and socially responsible.

2. Spiritual awareness – To spread the spiritual values among the society and help enlighten

their lives.

3. Health care – We Help them develop a healthy body and mind through yoga and

provide a free dispensary with free consultation for the needy.

4. Unleash the talents – Help the children participate in cultural programmes, quizzes and

educational fairs.

5. Positive thinking – Our various activities to help in positive thinking and decision making.

6. Sustainability – We ensure that our activities continue into the future. Donations, corpus

fund, magazine subscriptions, volunteers shall provide the necessary organizational

sustainability

7. Transparency – We make sure that everyone is aware of the funds received, its usage and

ongoing projects.

Functions:

Vidya Mandir - Our complete school

More than 250 children from weaker sections of society

receive light in the form our completely free school with a

curriculum that nourishes them physically, mentally and spiritually. Apart from

education and hygiene they are given vocational training and

are exposed to spiritual upliftment in the form of Satsanga and Meditation.

Nachiketa Tapovan Ashram - A haven for the spiritual mind:

Maa Yoga Shakti Peetam:

A place for quite reflection, rejuvenation and spiritual activity. It is a centre for service, discipline and inner development.

Goshala:

We also have with us, a Goshala, where we take care of Desi cows.

Veda Vyaasa Vidyalaya:

The Ashram also has an education system spanning over LKG-2nd grade as of now, with over 80 students, from nearby hamlets and

villages.

Mid day meals - To provide

All the Tapovan children are provided with proper food, and mid day meals.

Arts and Crafts - To create a sense

Tapovan children sell arts and crafts that they make to generate income. They learn responsibility,

accountability and get a taste of entrepreneurial skills.

- Spoken English, - Computer training, Organic farming- Teacher training, - Tailoring, embroidery- Sensitize them for a cleaner earth, - Help children learn to recycle, reuse and reduce waste.

Training for :

The students and children from nearby are also vocationally educated, and to them a number of life skills are imparted.

All school going children are taught basic skills and values. Their personalities are developed and they are taught and encouraged o participate in extra curricular activities.

Summer camps:

An initiative started to stress on the importance of environmental friendliness.

The program focuses mostly on the reducing, reusing and recycling of wastes.

It also encourages plantations, and aims at

planting over 30,000 plants every year

How You Can Help Us:

Corpus funds: Sanjeevani corpus fund: To sustain free medical services at

Nachiketa tapovan including equipment and medicines.Sponsor a child corpus: Minimum of Rs 1 lakh (With the interest ,

one childs education cost will be met every year)Mid day meal Corpus: Minimum of Rs 60,000 (With the interest ,

each year one day,meals will be served to the children)Morning snack corpus: Min. Of Rs 10,000 (With the interest , each year one day, morning milk/fruits will be served to the children)

Nachiketanjali corpus: To sustain publication of our monthly magazine.

Currently, Money from the annual interest from the

corpus funds and generous donations are adequate monthly for: Teacher’s

salaries, Books, Uniforms, and Maintenance (including

electricity)
