Social Enterprises for Learning (SEfL)
• STC/WBL/CTE strategy, developed in 1998
• Three main outcomes:1. Social: provide benefits to a larger community or
general public2. Enterprise: produce goods or services for clients or
customers 3. Learning: enable participants to develop specified
kinds of knowledge and skills
• Applicable to a range of career themes and contexts
![Page 5: Naf 2009 draft #1 dm](https://reader036.vdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022062616/54b63eb94a7959aa708b45df/html5/thumbnails/5.jpg)
Why SEfL?
• SEfL Projects are authentic, inquiry-based learning opportunities
• Initiatives provide important professional/career context and give a professional trajectory to high school students
• Academy students are too often not prepared to take full advantage of internships as they are not prepared
