We have been working on updating how we do our newsletters. We also have had some trouble with emailing our newsletters since we arrived in Italy and we are still working to correct the situation. Over these next couple of months you might see some changes in our updates as well as how we send them out. How we send them out or how they look might be different, but it is still us. Our hope is that we will be making changes that are more helpful for you. Technology is something we are learning about, but as we learn and grow in this area we hope that our growing pains do not affect you! We will be adding a website along with our monthly newsletters. We will also continue to be on Facebook. Our hope is that these changes will be beneficial for you as well. We are now on Christmas break! We have made it through our first session here in our language classes. We took a test on our last day of class before our break. We appreciated the chance to see what we have learned in our short time here so far. We felt good about our test except for one section that was a little more difficult. However, our teacher admitted after the test that she included a section that was a little more challenging. What a relief to know that this part was difficult to us for a reason! But, overall we were pleased with how we did. It has been exciting to see how far we have come in such a short time. We are definitely still beginners, that is certain. But we are encouraged to see the difference between what we know now and what we knew when we arrived. What a feeling it is when we realize we are able to read something in Italian! We cannot wait to see what more we can learn in the coming months. We are looking forward to the start of our classes again and our progression in learning Italian. This year was a little different for Ross and I. This was our first Christmas without family. Every year we have managed to be with one of our families for the holidays. But it was a neat time to spend together and learn what traditions we would like to start. We also were touched by the enjoyment of the real reason we celebrate. We might have not been with our families for the holidays, but we were able to celebrate the day we put aside to remember the birth of our Savior. The song by Steven Curtis Chapman comes to mind: “Christmas Is All In The Heart”. The idea is that the snow, the decorations, even the presents don’t matter. What matters is the gift we were given by the birth of our Savior. It was such a special time for us this year. But we were still very grateful to have the ability to Skype with both of our families on Christmas day. From the bottom of our hearts, we pray that this Christmas season you are filled with the peace that our Savior brings! Wishing you a very Merry Christmas! Megan and Ross Merry Christmas from Italy!
