evolve better

airports, one of the key factors in the growth of air transport, are constantly evolving. you are yourself aware of the almost daily alterations in airline needs, passenger expectations, new safety and security regulations and the constant changes in the law. economic challenges and financial limitations are encouraging the search for new territories, new markets, and new businesses.

these are developments and changes that mean all staff driving them must improve their skills and compare their own experience with that of their peers if they are to continue to provide a quality service and to make their own company even more competitive.

nama’s airport business training courses can support the improvement, offering your teams the experience and know-how of recognised experts in fields ranging from business aviation, quality management systems, health and safety, environment, customer relations and safety management systems (sms) to airport management.

our staff are not just professional trainers - they are professionals who are also trainers. since they are involved in the everyday running of aéroports de la côte d’azur, they understand the business at grassroots level and speak the same language and have the same enthusiasm as your own teams.

nama is a french registered institution (no. 93060722906) and as such is bound by a number of regulations, such as an annual education audit. this requires us to report the training we provide and assures trainees that they will receive a quality service.

Quality pARtNeRs

in addition to its practical courses, nama also runs a large number of academic courses on airport strategy and management. these have been designed and can be run in collaboration with several french bodies recognised for the thoroughness and relevance of the training they offer: ecole nationale de l’aviation civile (enac), institut de formation universitaire et de recherche en transport aérien (ifurta), institut de formation aéronautique (ifaero) and skema, which is one of europe’s highest ranked business schools.

nama offers a range of courses covering airport organisation, operation and development. some courses are intended for operating staff and others for managers. our one to five-day courses have been devised and organised to be as effective as possible. mixing theory with practice, our trainers base their lessons on real examples, case studies and site visits.if your problem is not covered by a standard course, nama can work with you to design a tailored course that meets all your demands. We cover a wide range of areas:- airport management- airport operation and maintenance (terminals and runways)- airport resource co-ordination- Qhse (Quality, health and safety, environment) - crm (customer relationship management)- support functions: it, legal hr, marketing, communication, etc.- business aviation (ramp training, flight operations, sales development, etc.)

at the end of 2012, nama and china singapore airport management academy (csama) signed a long-term partnership agreement for the training of chinese airport managers. as a result, around forty managers came to nice côte d’azur airport for a course on airport services. this was a highly effective, practical course that alternated theory with site visits. «Using our terminals, we made participants aware of the importance of cleanliness management and the challenges it raises: productivity and quality,» explained marianne pecorari, hygiene and Quality of life manager at nice côte d’azur airport. they also looked at airside retailing, the business centre and the car rental centre, which is a 60, 000 m2 building housing all the car rental firms at nice airport. other courses are being planned on airport operations and general aviation.

nama trainers are all globe trotters, providing many of their courses in africa. they have already trained around

fifty executives of régie des voies aériennes du congo in airport management. our training program covers four

different areas: strategy, legal, commercial and finance. «I was responsible for finance,» says alexandre nekoub,

internal audit and commitments committee manager for aéroports de la côte d’azur. «This was a two-day

module that dealt with all airport management questions: income, charges, management balance, financial statements,

KPIs, investment yield, and business plans.»

hands-on expeRieNce

nama trainers are the best specialists in their fields at aéroports de la côte d’azur. they are all experienced professionals who combine technical knowledge with a deep understanding of air transport in general and of the airport sector in particular. their own know-how is regularly improved by the group’s own studies and surveys. these are vital to the benchmarking of airport practices, trends and forecasts, which ensure that you are provided with the best current methods, services and tools.

our experts are more than just consultants. they bring that additional and essential “je ne sais quoi”: empathy. because they work in our own airports every day, they are totally in step with their clients and share with them a professional background that is very similar, if not identical. they are therefore fully aware of what is important to your staff and understand their problems because they have already had to deal with them themselves, either finding a solution to those same problems or learning how to live with and manage them at the daily bases.

nama and aéroports du cameroun have enjoyed close, fruitful relations since 2011. collaboration began

with the training of just 80 executives in airport management but quickly moved on towards consultancy.

around thirty aéroports de la côte d’azur staff have acted as advisors to our client. together, we

have supported the development of a 5-year strategy in which duties, challenges, vision, traffic forecasts,

investment and business plans were examined, defined and recorded in a final document that still underpins

the future of this african operator. two further studies have since been added to the original work:

benchmarking for lounges and an audit of non-aeronautical business at douala, yaounde and garoua.

«The audit was carried out within the plan to increase retail, F&B, advertising and parking income,» explained

valérie chuong, head of retail and services development at aéroports de la côte d’azur.

nice côte d’azur airport is one of the few european airports able to handle that new giant of the skies, the a380. in order to make this possible, both the tarmac and the terminal have had to undergo modifications. this experience was useful to saint-denis roland garros airport. gérard fernandez, head of Works in the technical, department of aéroports de la côte d’azur, worked with the company managing the airport at reunion. «We worked with SETEC and the Saint-Denis technical staff to increase the size of the infrastructure, taxiways as well as terminal. As a result, Reunion’s airport is now one of that very select group of international airports able to handle the world’s largest commercial aircraft.»

aéroports de la côte d’azur group is currently engaged in a dynamic international development. nama is examining all offered opportunities.

responsible gRowth

nama sees corporate social responsibility as a reality, not just a concept. for over 60 years the group has been actively contributing to the economic development of french riviera by promoting tourism and commercial exchanges via its network and its cargo business, by working closely with local communities and economic decision-makers and by protecting the environment (environmental charters, iso 14001 certification, airport carbon accreditation, etc.).

nama’s community credentials are built into its dna. While economic performance naturally underpins our everyday work and commits us to improving the service quality, commercial attractiveness and profitability of your airport, our ambition for it goes much further - to making it a dynamic and ethical stakeholder in the sustainable development of its area.

in January 2013, the shareholders of san remo - albenga airport. nama trusted with an airport

management contract. our aim is to develop the marketing of this general aviation airport and to

double traffic. only 13 minutes by helicopter from monaco and sized to handle big private jets, the

potential is certainly there. as part of the expansion, we are creating synergies with the group’s own

airports: marketing and pricing, promotions, sharing of experience, etc. our experts are also working

on service quality. «We have examined all the technical equipment to ensure the airport is in step with

customer demands,» explains alessandra del buono, promotion manager at aéroports de la côte

d’azur. «We are making new partnerships with local companies to impove crews and passengers facilities,

providing courtesy cars and implementation of a car rental companies.»

nama is working closely with hermes, consortium managing larnaka and pafos airports in cyprus. our

main focus is marketing, with one of our staff dedicated entirely to developing the network. however,

in addition to this major task, our experts are also regularly involved in improving the operations of all

cyprus airports. sophie dalmasso, for example, describes herself as a «safety management systems (SMS)

specialist. I have already implemented and commissioned a system at Nice Côte d’Azur and have shared my

know-how with the Hermes teams to allow them to install their own SMS systems at Larnaka and Pafos».
