How will NAMA Vehicle Grading affect me and why is it needed?

Trust in the condition and description of a vehicle is key to both buyers and sellers. Theintroduction of the NAMA Vehicle Grading Scheme will make the true condition of a vehiclevisible and transparent.

Who benefits?

Everyone benefits; Sellers, Buyers and the UK Motor Industry as a whole.

Until now there has been no single Motor Industry vehicle grading standard.

NAMA have defined the standard and introduced a national vehicle grading scheme.

Designed to facilitate the vehicle selling and buying process.

Gives customers a thorough understanding of each vehicle’s condition.

All underpinned by NAMA standards for appraisal and training.

Vehicle appraisal training accredited by The Institute of the Motor Industry.

The Key Benefits

Benefits to the Seller

A nationally defined vehicle condition will enable the best possible prices to be applied.

Vehicles of specific grades will be attractive to certain Buyer groups, thereby helping to ensure that Sellers attract the best audience.

The setting of sale prices can be assessed more critically because more is known about the specific condition of each vehicle.

The standardisation of vehicle grading will permit accurate price comparisons, thus providingthe Motor Industry with vital figures and statistics.

Provides a consistent and transparent grading of vehicles across the UK Motor Industry.

Benefits to the Buyer

The consistent and transparent grading of vehicles allows Buyers to target those vehicles of particular grades.

Buyers will be able to quickly and easily identify those vehicles that are of interest.

Buyers will have more confidence to buy online in the knowledge that they are purchasing a vehicle to a nationally recognised condition.

Grading is carried out by qualified vehicle assessors, trained to an accredited Motor Industrystandard.

Benefits to the Motor Industry

With more certainty about a vehicle’s condition, transactions between Sellers and Buyerscan be conducted more efficiently. A standardised grading system will reduce conditionambiguities and possible disagreements.

Provides a role definition and competency framework for the recruitment and development of vehicle appraisers.

Provides a training resource for the training of vehicle appraisers.
