1. A money prize of the value of Rs. 40 styled “ The Mrs. T. Ananda Rao Sundara Bai Prize” shall be awarded to a student who obtains the highest number of marks (being not less than 50 per cent) in Complusory English, among the candidates who pass the B.A. Degree Examination from the Women’s colleges belonging to or affiliated to the University.

2. A gold medal of the value of Rs. 50 called the “Pradhana Siromani T. Ananda Rao, C.I.E., Medal” shall be awarded annually at the Convocation to the candidate who obtains the highest percentage of total marks in the general papers on INDIAN HISTORY at the Final examination for the B.A. Degree and is eligible for the degree.

3. The prize and the medal may be awarded to students of any community. The

scholarships shall be tenable by Brahmin students only. In the event of any Medical scholarship not being awarded to a Brahmin candidate, the savings may be utilised for the benefit of any other Brahmin student in such manner as the Univeristy Council may decide.

4. In the event of there being two or more candidates competing either for the Medal, or the prize the same shall be awarded at the discretion of the University Council to the most deserving of them. Savings, if any, should be added to the corpus of the fund or utilised in such manner as the Universty council may decide subject to the provision embodied in para 5 supra.

2. (13) THE CANDY GOLD MEDAL--* Conditions for Grant:-

1. The medal shall be named “The Candy Gold Medal.”

2. It shall be awarded to the candidate who obtains not less than 60 percent of the total marks in HISTORY and who passes the B.A Degree Examination in the same year.

If the Honours course be introduced, the Medal will go to the student who stands highest in the Final Examination with History as his Major Subjects.

3. In the event of two or more candidates obtaining an equal number of marks in any one year, the University Council shall have the discrertionary power to award the medal to one of them.

4. If in any year no candidate passing the B.A Degree Examination obtains not less than 60 percent of total marks in History, the University Council may award the full amount of interest as a prize to the successful candidate who takes the highest number of marks in History or dispose of the amount in such manner as they may deem fit.

4. The balance of interest shall be utilised to award ten scholarships called “The Sir P.N. Krishnamurti Sanskrit Scholarships,” viz., two scholarships in each of the two intermediate classed and six in the B.A. and B.A. (Hons) classes. The values of the scholarships tenable in the intermediate and Degree classes shall be in the ration 2:3.

5. When one or more of the scholarships are held by students in the Third Year B.A(Hons) class, there will be a corresponding reduction in the number available for the Junior B.A. and the First Year B.A.(hons) classes.

6. The scholarships shall be awarded in the Junior Intermediate, Junior B.A. and First Year B.A.(Hons) classes.

7. Each scholarship shall be tenable for two years, or three years if held by a student taking the B.A.(Hons) course, but its continuance from year to year will depend upon the student’s satisfactory progress as determined by the annual examination.

8. The scholarship may be held in conjunction with other scholarships in accordance with the rules of the University.

9. Should one or more scholarships tenable in the Degree classes become available through lack of eligible candidates, the amount may be utilised to award a scholarship to a student in the M.A. class or additional scholarships in the intermediate classes.

13. (3) THE HANUMAPPA GOLD MEDAL--* Date: 1917. Conditions of Grant:-

1. Out of the interest on the endowment, a gold medal of the value of Rs.60/- will be awarded to the student who stands FIRST among the successful candidates in the FIRST CLASS, taking GEOLOGY as a mojor Subject in the B.Sc Degree Examination of the University without any distribution of caste of creed.

2. (i) The balance of interest shall be used for the award every year of four scholarships of equal value, two in the Intermediate courses, and two in the Degree Course-B.A., B.S.c., to the most deserving students of the Balija community only.
