3.3 General definitionsPorsche Mobil 1 Supercup code of behaviour

The Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup is a racing series characterised by equality of

opportunity and fairness – in both technical and sporting terms. Those involved

in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup (participants, i. e. teams with all employees and

team members, drivers, officials, organisation) make a significant contribution

to how the Series is perceived – both internally and by the general public – and

to the atmosphere in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup through their conduct and

their communication.

All those involved are responsible for conducting themselves is such a way

as to uphold and safeguard in the long term the professionalism that prevails

in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, as well as the esteem in which the Series

and its participants are held by the general public. Moreover, fair and sporting

competition represents an important safety aspect for all participants,

and is intended to avoid risk factors.

For this reason, all those involved agree to acknowledge the philosophy of the

Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and to comply with the rules of conduct of the Series.

Both on and also adjacent to the race track, all those involved will

– treat the other participants, officials and organisers respectfully,

– follow the laws and the rules of the sport, and exemplify and promote

fairness and the rules of conduct,

– neither express themselves or behave in an insulting, offensive or abusive

way, nor tolerate such expressions or modes of conduct, either in direct

conversations, interviews, etc. or in other communication, e. g. press

releases, posts in social media, etc.

– always behave in the interests of safety and permanently cooperate in

efforts to reduce risks,

– use resources in a sustainable way, giving priority to the well-being, safety

and satisfaction of others before their own personal goal,

– always comply with the purpose of the sport,

– point out to other people who are involved if their conduct is not

characterised by fairness, sportsmanship, respect and tolerance,

Part 1 | Sporting Rules Part 1 | Sporting Rules

1716

Regulations PMSC 2016

– cooperate with all other persons involved so as to develop and improve the

Series and its status further on a continuous basis.

As a consequence of failing to comply with the rules of conduct, participants who

– (repeatedly) infringe against the Regulations,

– draw attention to themselves through unsporting behaviour

on and adjacent to the track,

– express themselves about or behave in a disrespectful way towards

other participants, officials, organisers, etc.,

– ignore the specifications, instructions, meetings of the Series Organisation

and/or other official bodies in the context of the organisation

and holding of an event,

– ignore agreements that have been reached (including between teams

and drivers) and do not meet obligations of performance,

– do not act in the interests of the sport and/or the recognisable objective

of undertaking the activities seriously in accordance with the rules that

have been acknowledged,

may be excluded from the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. The decision made

by the Stewards is not subject to Appeal. Continued participation in this

championship may not be permitted until any fine imposed is paid in full.

4. Entries

4.1 Registrations/entries, entry closing date and obligation to participateThe entrant and/or driver must have submitted his/her application to be

admitted to the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup by 30.04.2016 by using the form

provided by the Series organiser “Application for Entry”. The date of receipt

of the “Application for Entry” with the Series organiser is the relevant date.

If the completed “Application for Entry” is received later than this date, it cannot

be considered. Excepted from this regulation are extensions to a registration

for at least two cars under either one or more entrant licences and which

has been submitted in due time and been confirmed by Porsche AG.

For each entrant licence, a minimum of 2 vehicles must be registered and

up to a maximum of 3 vehicles in total across both A and B classifications

can be entered.

A registered entrant can enter a fourth vehicle as a guest driver under the same

entrant’s licence. In this case, the team’s presentation will be made using 2

vehicles per semitrailer. A change to the team’s presentation has to be applied

for in writing and approved by the Series organiser a minimum of 14 days

prior to the first day of the event.

No more than 2 substitute drivers are allowed to be nominated for the first

two vehicles entered by an entrant. Each additional driver must be entered

on the “Applicant for Guest Entry” up until 2 weeks prior to the respective

event. There is no limit on the number of substitute drivers for a third

permanently entered vehicle.

The application, which must be filled in fully and signed, is to be sent to

the following address:

With the submitted “Applications for Entry” or “Applications for Guest Entry”

the driver/entrant has to specify in which classification (A or B-classification)

the driver wishes to participate.

Part 1 | Sporting Rules Part 1 | Sporting Rules

1918

Regulations PMSC 2016

A-classification

The A-classification is a classification for drivers with a professional racing

background. The A-classification is the championship classification of the

Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup.

B-classification

The B-classification is a separate classification for drivers without a professional

motor racing background. The minimum age to compete in the B-classification

is 35 years (including the year the driver turns 35). Participation is by classi-

fication/approval of the Series organiser based on their sporting résumé.

For the classification to be contested, a minimum of 5 drivers and maximum

8 drivers must compete. Points are awarded following the same system as

the A-classification. The Series organiser has the final say in the allocation of

drivers to the respective classes.

For each B-classification entrant, an “Application for Entry” for the A-classification

of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup 2016 must also be made for at least one

driver. A change in the classifications afterwards is not possible.

Porsche Junior

Per race team, irrespective of the amount of applicants and corresponding

licences, only one Junior can be registered as a driver. A Porsche Junior is

a driver nominated and supported by Porsche AG and who has successfully

completed the Porsche AG selection courses. The Porsche Juniors for the

2016 season of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup are Sven Müller, Matteo

Cairoli and Mathieu Jaminet. Only Porsche Juniors are allowed to use the

Junior Branding determined by Porsche AG on the vehicle and the official

designation “Porsche Junior” on all communication materials as well as clothing.

Substitute drivers wishing to participate in an entered vehicle or an existing

starting number can apply for participation in single race events by the

entry closing date of the relevant event (as stipulated in the Supplementary

Event Regulations) using an “Application for Guest Entry” which must be

sent to the Series organiser.

Substitute drivers are drivers with a valid international driver’s licence (at least

licence grade C) who are registered for an event using an “Application for Guest

Entry” and participate with an entered vehicle under an entered starting number.

Guest drivers can apply for participation in single race events at the latest 4

weeks prior to the relevant event using an “Application for Guest Entry” which

must be sent to the Series organiser. The single entry fee is due as indicated

in the “Application for Guest Entry“. The Series organiser reserves the right

to accept “Applications for Registration” that arrive after this date.

Guest drivers are drivers with a valid international driver’s licence (at least

licence grade C) who are registered using an „Application for Guest Entry” and

participate with a vehicle not entered/without an existing starting number.

The Series organiser may allow substitute drivers as well as guest drivers

to participate in the relevant events providing that these drivers satisfy the

conditions pertaining to the rules of participation for the respective classification

rounds. Registered entrants and drivers are given priority with regard to their

entitlement to race.

Participants who have been accepted will receive a written confirmation of

their entry or guest entry. The Series organiser reserves the right to refuse

“Applications for Entry“ or “Applications for Guest Entry” at his own discretion

by giving reasons. There is no automatic entitlement to the acceptance/

participation in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup.

The Series organiser reserves the right to enter vehicles under its own

application.

With the submission of the “Application for Entry” or the “Application for Guest

Entry”, entrants and drivers charge and authorise the Series organiser to submit

entry forms on their behalf for those events which form part of the races for

the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup 2016 (block entry). Direct nominations to the

promoters by the participants shall not be permissible.

Part 1 | Sporting Rules Part 1 | Sporting Rules

2120

Regulations PMSC 2016

The Series organiser also reserves the right to permit additional entries

to the individual races. Should one of the named participants not take part

in a race, that person must notify the Series organiser of their absence in

writing 48 hours before the start of the administrative checks at the latest.

The ASN may penalise a failure to comply with this deadline.

Two starts at the same event are permissible. Recourse to legal action

is excluded.

With the registration, the entrant and/or driver commits to participate

with each registered vehicle in the official season tests and all races of

the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup 2016 without exception.

A and B-classification

With the registration, the driver undertakes to participate in at least 6 races

of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup 2016. If an entrant or driver fails or is unable

to fulfil the participation commitments for reasons beyond his/her control, he/

she has to state credible reasons for this in writing without measurable delay.

Any failure to submit reasons may automatically be deemed a contravention

of these regulations. The Stewards shall decide whether or not the responsibility

lies with the entrant/driver for not complying with the obligation to participate.

4.2 Entry fees for the season and per eventThe registration/entry fees as well as a possible deposit are payable as

specified on the “Application for Entry”. The following registration/entry fees

7.2 Eligible vehicles and max. number of vehicles authorised Only vehicles of the type/model Porsche 911 GT3 Cup which fully comply

with the technical prescriptions in these Regulations are eligible to

participate in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup 2016.

Eligible vehicles and division into classes:

Only vehicles of the type Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, type 991 (a special series

produced by Porsche AG), of the model year 2016 and the model years 2015,

2014 and 2013 including the required modifications in accordance with the

attachments (see part 2: Technical Regulations, Art. 2 as well as Attachment 1)

are eligible to participate.

The vehicles must meet the technical specifications of these rules and Appendix

J of the International Sporting Code in full and must possess a valid registered

DMSB vehicle pass or the corresponding document of another ASN associated

to the FIA.

A change of vehicles has to be applied for by the entrant and to be approved

in written form by the Series organiser prior to the change.

Vehicles submitted by “Porsche AG” may deviate from the Technical Regulations

for the purposes of development. The deviations shall be referred for approval

to the DMSB by the Series organiser before the vehicle is used and shall not

involve any safety-critical modifications.

The max. number of permitted vehicles is defined in the circuit licence and listed

in the Supplementary Event Regulations of the event. Moreover, the Series

organiser limits the maximum number of permitted vehicles for permanently

entered starters to 28. In events for which the circuit licence permits a higher

number of starters than 28, the Series organiser limits the maximum number

of permitted vehicles to 32. Entries by the Series organiser are excluded from

the limit on the maximum permitted number of vehicles (32).

7.3 Running of the eventsMaximum speed in the pit lane

The maximum speed in the pit lane during training, qualifying and classif-

ication round is specified by the promoter in the Supplementary Regulations

and monitored by the Race Director and the Stewards. Drivers exceeding

the permitted maximum speed during free practice and in qualifying sessions

shall be fined EUR 25.00 for each km/h over the specified limit.

Part 1 | Sporting Rules Part 1 | Sporting Rules

3130

Regulations PMSC 2016

The penalty has to be paid to the national ASN. Drivers who repeatedly exceed

the permitted maximum speed in the pit lane during free practice and qualifying

may face additional penalties for speed limit violation. If the permitted maximum

speed in the pit lane is exceeded during the race, ‘Drive-Through’ penalties

will be imposed.

a) Practice

One free practice session of 30 to 45 minutes and one timed practice session

(qualification) of 30 minutes are scheduled for each event.

If more entered/nominated drivers are present for an individual race event

than permitted in the Supplementary Regulations for the respective event, the

Series organiser may determine a regulative procedure (via bulletin) which

decides on admission to free practice and qualifying for the race/races of the

corresponding event.

The pre-start for free practice is regulated as follows: The order of the vehicles

in the pre-start is determined by the result of the preceding race.

For the first pre-start of the season, the order of the vehicles will be determined

by a draw. Guest entrants are placed at the back.

The free practice session time duration may be reduced in length should it

be temporarily stopped for reasons of safety or Force Majeure.

b) Qualification

Qualifying will take place before every race. This consists of one section.

The duration of the qualifying section will be announced within the timetable

of the respective event. All participants must qualify for the respective race.

Admission to the starting grid and the races is dependent on the result

of the qualifying session.

The order of the vehicles in the pre-start for qualification is defined by the

results of the free practice session of the respective event. Should unforseen

circumstances force the cancellation of the free practice session, the order

of the vehicles for qualification will be defined by the results of the preceding

race (for the first pre-start of the season, the order of the vehicles will

be determined by a draw. Guest entrants are placed at the back).

At the end of the qualification, all vehicles which participated in the qualification

are subject to the Parc Fermé rules.

A driver can only be admitted to a race by participating in the qualifying session

and achieving a qualifying time not exceeding 107% of the fastest driver in

the qualifying session. This rule is applied to the totality of drivers, irrespective

of the stated classification.

Admission of drivers who have not qualified will be decided by the Stewards

in consultation with the Race Director and the clerk of the course after a written

application by the entrant/driver.

Only one qualifying session of 30 minutes will take place at events with 2 races.

The participants qualify for race 1 with their fastest lap in qualifying and for

race 2 with the second fastest lap in qualifying of the respective event.

Drivers who do not achieve this qualification may be excluded from starting.

The final decision in this respect will be taken by the Stewards in consultation

with the Race Director.

Should unforseen circumstances force the cancellation of the qualification

session, then the times set in the free practice session will be used to determine

the starting grid. The best free practice time determines the position on the

starting grid for race 1, while the second-best free practice time of the driver

in question determines the position on the starting grid for race 2.

Should unforseen circumstances force the cancellation of both the free practice

session and the qualification session, then the current championship positions

will be used to determine the starting grid for the race (both races where two

races are held at an event).

Part 1 | Sporting Rules Part 1 | Sporting Rules

3332

Regulations PMSC 2016

Starting grid

The starting grid for the race will be determined by the fastest times achieved

in qualifying. The fastest lap times of each driver will be published after

the qualifying. Pole Position will be held by the driver with the fastest lap time

according to the definition of the FIA track license or DMSB track license.

The driver with the second fastest time takes position two etc.

In events with 2 races, the best qualifying time determines the position on

the starting grid for race 1, while the second-best qualifying time of the driver

in question determines the position on the starting grid for race 2. Should

unforseen circumstances force the cancellation of the 1st race then the

2nd race will be run with the grid times set for race 2.

If one or more than one driver has not set a lap time, these drivers will

be placed at the end of the starting grid in the following order:

a) the drivers who have started a timed lap;

b) the drivers who have not started a timed lap from the pit lane.

Drivers whose lap times were cancelled by decision of the Race Director or

the Stewards must in all cases start the race behind the aforementioned drivers

at the end of the starting grid.

The competition vehicles drive directly onto the starting grid. Driving one or

more laps and through the pit lane are not permitted unless specifically ordered

by the Race Director. The order of the vehicles in the pre-start is determined

by the result of the starting grid for the relevant classification round of the

relevant event.

On display of the 3-minute signal at the latest, all competition vehicles must

be standing on their wheels and must not be lifted again.

c) Starting modes

The races will be started as follows:

Standing start with staggered formation (GP start)

d) Races

The Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup 2016 consists of 10 races organised as circuit

races. The races will run over the distance of approx. 70 km. In each case

this distance is converted into a certain number of laps for the classification

round(s) and indicated for each event in the Supplementary Event Regulations.

If the planned distance for the race has not been completed by the leading

driver after 30 minutes, the leading driver will receive the chequered flag

the next time he/she passes the finishing line.

The finish line applies both to the track and to the pit lane.

If a race is cancelled on account of force majeure or for safety reasons, the

Series organiser reserves the right to reduce the number of races or to

designate a replacement event. The Series organiser is under no obligation

to reschedule a race in its original format within an event.

Pre-start

The pre-start is the line-up of all vehicles before entering the circuit for the free

practice, qualifying and races. All vehicles must be driven from the team

awning/pit to the official pre-start by the relevant driver. Possible exceptions

will be notified by the Series organiser at the start of an event in each case.

All drivers must be ready for collection in full racing clothing in their team awning/

pit at the time defined in the schedule. Should a participant not be ready in

time he/she has no right to take part in the relevant session. The final decision

on participation in the session is taken by the Stewards.

8. Classification

8.1 Points scale

The winner of a race is the participant who has driven the specified distance

with his/her vehicle within the shortest time, taking account of all penalties.

The winner of a race with regard to the awarding of points is the entered

participant driving an entered vehicle/on an entered starting number who

has driven the scheduled distance with his/her vehicle in the shortest time,

taking account of all penalties.

All participants who started the race will be classified in accordance with

the number of laps of the circuit covered, providing that they have completed

at least 75 % of the distance covered by the winner. Drivers who have

completed the same number of laps will be classified in the order in which

they last crossed the finishing line.

If the distance is shortened or stopped and not resumed, the participants will be

awarded the points as indicated, providing that at the time the race is stopped

the leader has covered the following distance:

At least 75 % of the scheduled distance* = 100 % points

At least 50 % of the scheduled distance* = 50 % points

Less than 50 % of the scheduled distance* = No points

The distance is the number of laps specified in the Supplementary Event

Regulations for the race(s). No additional laps are added to the race distance

in the event that the Safety Car is used at any time in a race.

All laps of the race circuit covered after starting the race will be counted

to obtain the distance covered. The warm-up and slowdown laps do not

count towards the distance.

Participation of guest drivers under the entry “Porsche AG“ will take place

outside the driver, team and prize money classification.

Awarding of points

Participants who satisfy the conditions for the allocation of points for their

successes achieved in the driver (A and B-classification) and/or team ranking

for the individual classification rounds shall be awarded the following points in

the order in which they are placed in accordance with the rules for the driver

(A and B-classification) and/or team classification.

1st place: 20 points

2nd place: 18 points

3rd place: 16 points

4th place: 14 points

5th place: 12 points

6th place: 10 points

7th place: 9 points

8th place: 8 points

9th place: 7 points

10th place: 6 points

11th place: 5 points

12th place: 4 points

13th place: 3 points

14th place: 2 points

15th place: 1 point

Driver classification, A and B-classifications

All results of the individual races will be taken into consideration for the

classification established at the end of the year. A separation between A

and B-classification is made. There are no void results. The winner of each

classification is the entered driver with the highest total score of all races.

The winner of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup 2016 is the entered driver with

the highest total number of points in the A-classification from all the races.

Part 1 | Sporting Rules Part 1 | Sporting Rules

3736

Regulations PMSC 2016

The driver named in the entry must take part in at least 6 races in order

to be included in the final classification for the year.

Substitute drivers will be awarded points according to their result.

Guest drivers take part outside the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup driver classifi-

cation. With regard to the allocation of points to drivers for ranking purposes,

a change of team and a change of vehicle are possible, provided that the

vehicles involved have been entered. If a change to a vehicle that has not

been previously entered takes place, the relevant entry fees shall be due.

Team classification

The team classification is independent of the driver classification. The points

of two vehicles entered under the same licence of an entrant are added together

for the team ranking. Points are awarded for the team classification after

the official overall race result (A and B-classification).

Where there are more than 2 vehicles per entrant licence, the team shall nomi-

nate the two eligible team scoring drivers for the corresponding event in writing

before the end of the administrative checks at each event of the Porsche Mobil 1

Supercup. Should two drivers not be nominated, then the two team scoring

drivers with the lower two starting numbers of vehicles will be named for that

event. Any other vehicles of an entrant will not be considered in the team

classification. The following positions move up in the awarding of points. Team

ranking points are awarded according to the same points system as used for

the driver ranking. A driver change on a registered starting number is possible.

If a substitute driver takes part in a vehicle registered in the Porsche Mobil 1

Supercup 2016, the entrant will receive the points in the team classification

achieved in accordance with the result in the race.

Results that guest drivers achieve in vehicles not registered in the Porsche

Mobil 1 Supercup will not be included in the team classification of the Porsche

Mobil 1 Supercup. Drivers classified behind guest drivers move up the points

system accordingly.

Team ranking points are awarded according to the same points system as used

for the driver ranking.

Rookie classification

The Rookie classification is independent of the driver and team rankings.

A rookie is a driver contesting his/her first season in the Porsche Mobil 1

Supercup and who has participated in no more than 5 races of the Porsche

Mobil 1 Supercup in previous years and who is entered in the A-classification.

Drivers who take part in at least 6 events per season will be classified.

The maximum age for participation in the Rookie classification is 25 years

(counting the year the driver turns 25). All results count towards the final Rookie

classification. The winner of the Rookie classification is the driver with the

highest total number of points of all races. The awarding of points will be

the same as the points system of the driver ranking. There are no void results.

The Rookie classification is based on the overall A-classification.

Prize for fastest race laps

The driver who has achieved the most fastest race laps in all races will win

this classification. When the number obtained is equal, the decision is made

on the basis of the best placings.

8.2 Equality of pointsWhere an equal number of points are obtained by more than one driver,

the decision is made on the basis of the highest number of first places,

then second places and finally the places achieved in all races of the Porsche

Mobil 1 Supercup 2016. If, after this rule has been applied, the number of

points is still equal, the decision is made on the basis of the better result in

the final race.

18.2 Prize money and trophiesPrize money

The prize money is paid by the organiser exclusively to the applicants/

participants (teams).

The prize money is paid in return as a consideration by the organiser to

the applicants/participants for their successful participation. Thus, an

exchange of supply and consideration takes place between the organiser

and the applicant/participant.

The prize money is paid plus VAT if VAT should arise according to the

applicable VAT Law. In order to check if VAT is to be charged as per the

applicable VAT Law, the applicants/participants confirm their status as

entrepreneurs for VAT purposes by indicating their tax number, resp.

VAT identification number.

The organizer issues self-billed invoices, plus VAT if applicable, for the

successful participation of the applicant/participant.

Prize money is paid out per championship race from positions 1 to 15

(A-classification) and from positions 1 to 5 (B-classification) of each official

race result.

Substitute drivers using a starting number entered in the Porsche Mobil 1

Supercup 2016 are entitled to receive prize money.

Vehicles/registered starting numbers in the A and B-classifications that have

not taken part in all championship races, are not eligible for prize money.

Excluded from the prize money are drivers racing under the “Porsche AG”

entry. Drivers placed after such guest drivers move up the prize money

system accordingly.

The prize money will be paid 6 weeks after the last race. In each case, the prize

money will be paid to the entrant named in the entry, provided that the entrant/

driver does not owe outstanding amounts to Porsche AG and its subsidiaries, all

entry conditions and conditions of participation have been adhered to and no

sports disciplinary proceedings are outstanding that could influence the final tally

of points.

Prizes in kind

The organiser can also remunerate the drivers with a prize in kind for their

successful participation.

The prize in kind in its net amount (exclusive of VAT) is the consideration

remunerated by the organiser in return for the successful participation of the

driver with the highest number of classification points (barter transaction

according to Sec. 3 Para. 12 sentence 2 German VAT Law). Thus, an exchange

of supply and consideration takes place between the organiser and the driver.

The driver has to indicate if he acts as a non-entrepreneur or an entrepreneur

for VAT purposes. If he acts as an entrepreneur for VAT purposes, he must

indicate his tax number or VAT identification number.

The organiser issues invoices for the supplied prizes in kind plus VAT, if

applicable. In return, the organiser issues self-billed invoices to the drivers

for their successful participation, plus VAT if applicable.

Any applicable VAT shown on the invoices of the organiser for the prizes in kind

must bei paid by the driver to the organiser. Only if for the supplied service of

the driver also German VAT becomes due and is credited in the self-billed invoice

of the organiser, no payment of the VAT element is due.

According to § 50a EStG, entrants, who are not registered in Germany, must

currently pay 15.825% of the prize money, also team prize money & special

prizes, won in German events to the German tax office. The prize money to be

paid out will therefore be reduced by this tax amount and currently amounts

to 84.175% of the prize money.

This procedure will also be applied for the prize of kind. As such, for points scored

in German races, the winner will have to pay tax based on the value of the prize.

19. Advertising

Teams must not enter into partnerships with companies who are either

in competition to the official Series partners of Porsche AG or who are involved

in a legal dispute with Porsche AG or a company associated with Porsche AG.

The teams are therefore obliged to notify potential partnerships to Porsche AG

in advance. Porsche AG is entitled to prohibit teams from entering into a

partnership if the potential partner falls into one of the above two categories.

The use of advertisements for companies, their products, services or brands

that are competitor products, services or brands of Porsche AG, their associated

companies or Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup Series sponsors on vehicles, helmets,

race suits and other driver equipment, on team vehicles or on team clothing

or any other kind of advertising for these companies, products or services is

strictly prohibited.

The use of advertisements for companies in the tobacco and sex industry, their

The advertising guidelines of the FIA and DMSB as well as general or legally

regulated advertising bans must be observed.

The team (entrant) is obliged to notify all potential partners/sponsors to

Porsche AG and obtain a written approval. Porsche AG is entitled to prohibit

teams from entering into a partnership.

In the event of contravention of this, this will result in non-admission for starting

or exclusion from the classification by the Stewards.

A team partner/sponsor must not support more than 2 teams with 2 vehicles

in each case and must therefore be included in the decals of max. 4 vehicles.

1.5 General RegulationsPermitted modifications and installations

The only work which is allowed to be carried out on the vehicles is that

necessary for its normal servicing, or for the replacement of parts worn

through use or accident.

The limits of the modifications and installations allowed are specified

hereinafter. Any part worn through use or accident may only be replaced by

identical Porsche Genuine Parts that are assigned to the eligible vehicles in

compliance with Item 2.1. The Porsche Genuine Parts are specified in the

valid spare parts catalogue in each case.

The use of components manufactured by Porsche AG for other groups of

vehicles (e.g. Porsche road vehicles) is also prohibited.

Throughout the vehicle, the standard fastening components such as nuts,

bolts, washers, lock washers, spring washers and splint pins are exclusively

allowed to be replaced by Porsche Genuine Parts.

The service and replacement intervals and adjustment values specified by

Porsche AG (see Technical Manual) are to be observed.

The Series organiser may allow modifications that do not correspond to

the series production status on all or individual vehicles, providing these do

not permit a competitive advantage (e.g. for the attachment of cameras).

1.6 Minimum weights and ballastAt no time during an event is the weight of a vehicle allowed to be less than

the mandatory minimum weight.

The minimum weight of the vehicle including the driver weight and the residual

amount of fuel is 1,305 kg.

The minimum weight must also be observed when the levels of operating liquids

are under minimum level.

The Technical Scrutineers specify a weigh scale for the checking of

the minimum weight. It is referred to here as the “official scale”.

The official scale is located in the technical scrutineering tent or in a

respective pit. This is also the weighing area.

The installation of ballast is permitted. Only original Porsche ballast components

must be used. These must be installed in the provided holders at the position

of the passenger’s seat in accordance with the illustration in Attachment 4. The

components of the ballast weights are identified by spare part numbers (part

numbers. 997.504.848.00 / 997.504.848.01 / 997.504.848.02).

Minimum vehicle weight

The minimum weight of the vehicles is 1,225 kg and consists of:

– the weight of the vehicle;

– the weight of the inboard camera including the radio system assigned by

the Series organiser or the weight of the respective substitute ballast;

– the installed additional weights.

Minimum driver weight

The minimum weight of the driver is 80 kg and consists of:

– the driver;

– the personal equipment of the driver as it is in the vehicle at the time when

the weighing is ordered;

– the driver equalisation weight if applicable.

It is the driver’s responsibility to ensure that the sum of the installed

equalisation weight plus his/her actual weight (including the parts of his/

her personal equipment in the vehicle at the time of the order to weigh

the vehicle) is at least 80 kg.

6362

Regulations PMSC 2016 Part 2 | Technical Regulations Part 2 | Technical Regulations

Separate/combined weighing of vehicle and driver

The Technical Scrutineers may decide to weigh the vehicle and driver separately

or in combination.

If the vehicle and the driver are weighed in combination, the minimum weight

shall be the particular sum total of the aforementioned minimum weights.

Weight changes during qualifying and race

During the qualifying and race, the weight of the vehicle is only allowed to be

altered by:

– Changing from slick tyres to wet tyres or vice versa;

– Consumption of consumable materials and fluids.

On the way from the circuit to the Parc Fermé and in the Parc Fermé itself,

and on the way to the postrace technical scrutineering under no circumstances

is weight allowed to be added to the vehicle or the driver.

Verification of the minimum weights by the participants on the official

scale Participants have the opportunity to check the weight of their vehicles

and drivers during the event on the official scale in agreement with the

Technical Scrutineers.

Personal protective driver equipment during weighing

During the weigh-in, each driver must wear his/her complete driver apparel

as set out in Annex L, Chapter III of the ISC, plus the mandatory head

restraint system.

Weighing of vehicles

The weighing procedure of vehicles and drivers is conducted in accordance with

the current DMSB policy for the weighing of vehicles.

The vehicles are weighed as follows:

– Weighing of vehicles is carried out regularly on the official scale

– During the free practice and qualifying, weighing can also be done on the

scale of the FIA, which is at a fixed location in the pit lane. Any differences

between these scales are taken into account by the Technical Scrutineers.

If the weighing on the FIA scale indicates that the vehicle in question might

be found underweight on the official scale, this vehicle, the driver and his/

her protective equipment must again be weighed on the official scale following

the DMSB weighing policy

– Only the result of this weighing is to be taken into consideration and is binding

– If a driver is given the signal that his/her vehicle has been selected for

weighing, he/she must take the shortest route possible to the weighing area/

FIA scale and turn off the engine

– The vehicle will be weighed together with the driver. The driver or a team

member will receive written confirmation of the measured vehicle weight.

During weighing the driver is not allowed to move in any way as to influence

the weighing result

If a vehicle cannot reach the weighing area under its own power, it must be

brought to the weighing area solely by marshals. If this is not possible, then the

Technical Scrutineers can assign other persons for this purpose.

Leaving the weighing areaWithout the consent of the Technical Scrutineers, the driver is not permitted

to leave the weighing area and the vehicle is not allowed to be removed.

Weighing after breakdown and vehicle remaining on circuit during qualifying

and race

If a vehicle breaks down during the qualifying session or the race and the

driver leaves his/her vehicle, he/she must go directly to the weighing area

to determine his/her weight.

Determining the driver weights

After free practice, qualifying and race, all drivers must go immediately and

on a direct route from the Parc Fermé to the weighing area to determine their

weight. Drivers who are approached by the TV partner for an interview may

interrupt their walk to the weighing area for the duration of the interview.

Drivers who go to the podium are allowed to be weighed on the FIA scale.

6564

Regulations PMSC 2016 Part 2 | Technical Regulations Part 2 | Technical Regulations

Any differences between the FIA scale and the official scale are taken into

account. Drivers who do not go directly to the weighing area to be weighed

will be reported to the Stewards of the Meeting. The Stewards of the

Meeting will take the final decision regarding a punishment.

The drivers will be weighed individually and will receive a weighing report on

the determined weight. Any appeal against the observed weight must be

immediately submitted to the Technical Scrutineers after receiving the report.

Determining the total weight of the driver and vehicle

The vehicle is weighed without driver during technical scrutineering. The total

weight results from the addition of driver weight and vehicle weight (including

driver equalisation weight). If during the weighing procedure the vehicle is found

to be lighter than the currently applicable minimum weight for this vehicle, the

vehicle without the driver will immediately be weighed for a second and third

time on the same scale and in the same condition. The maximum value of these

3 weigh-ins is regarded as the actual weight of the vehicle.

Replacement and loss of vehicle parts

All vehicle parts that were replaced during the free practice, qualifying session

and race must be presented to the Technical Scrutineers without request for

inspection. The parts that were removed from the vehicle will be marked by the

Technical Scrutineers if necessary and are not allowed to be modified in any way

afterwards. These parts must remain in the pit or in the technical scrutineering

tent in sight of the Technical Scrutineers or their assistants until released by

the Technical Scrutineers. These parts can be considered when determining

the weight instead of the replaced parts.

Parc Fermé rules for vehicle weighing

Vehicles that have been specified for weighing are subject to Parc Fermé

Regulations. It is forbidden to add or remove any substance to/from the vehicle

after it has been selected to be weighed. The same applies during the weighing

process and after the end of the race. Excluded are actions of the Technical

Scrutineers.

Weighing in below the minimum weight

If, during the weighing procedure, the vehicle is found to be lighter than

the currently applicable minimum weight for this vehicle, the vehicle together

with the driver will immediately be weighed for a second and a third time on

the same scales and in the same condition. The maximum value of these 3

weigh-ins is regarded as the actual weight of the vehicle.

Falling below the minimum weight during the qualifying session will be penalised

with the cancellation of the qualification times achieved by the driver concerned.

The driver is allowed, however, to take up the race from the last place on the

starting grid. Falling below the minimum weight in the race will result in exclusion

from the points classification for the race. It is the entrant’s responsibility to

ensure that the race vehicle entered by him/her can be brought directly to the

weighing area when instructed by the Stewards or the Technical Scrutineers at

any time during the event. In any case, Parc Fermé rules apply to the vehicle

from the moment of the order until the termination of the weighing process.

Moreover, Parc Fermé rules apply to the route to the weighing area and in

the weighing area itself. Only the responsible sporting marshals and their

helpers are permitted to enter the weighing area. In this area, the only activities

on the vehicle are those expressly permitted by the aforementioned persons.

If a vehicle is not presented for weighing despite a request, the Technical

Scrutineers will inform the Stewards.

“2016 Sticker Regulation”. The sticker regulation is agreed with the DMSB.

The “2016 Sticker Regulation” is part of these Regulations (see Attachment 3).

Any breach of these Regulations may result in the participant concerned being

excluded from classification. All advertising surfaces that are not occupied as

specified in the Sticker Regulation are available for the entrants’ own advertising

labels. The clearance between such advertising and the mandatory labels and

starting number shall be a minimum of 30 mm.

Tyre damage

If marked tyres are damaged during qualifying or in the race, these can be

replaced by new ones (notification by the team manager up to a maximum

of one hour after the end of the Parc Fermé). Damaged tyres can only be

exchanged with the approval of the Technical Scrutineers and in agreement

with Michelin. In this case, marking of the tyres by the Technical Scrutineers

is necessary.

If more than one tyre needs to be replaced, the relevant vehicle/driver will start

from the last position of the starting grid. The Stewards of the Meeting will take

the final decision regarding the severity of punishment. The vehicles behind will

then be moved up. Where several vehicles have been involved in this type of tyre

change, the relevant drivers shall be lined up at the back of the starting grid in

the order of their qualifying results.

Treatment

All chemical, mechanical and thermal treatment of the tyres is prohibited. The

mechanical removal of rubber abrasion and stones is permitted. The use of

heated covers, materials or other means that change the temperature of the

tyres is prohibited for the entire duration of an event. From the time of the

pre-start until the end of the session the for the event approved tyres are not

allowed to be covered.

Tyre logs

All barcodes of the marked tyres will be recorded in lists, the so-called tyre logs,

which will be handed over to the entrants. The entrants must compare the

barcodes of the tyres with those of the tyre logs and sign to confirm agreement.

All tyre logs must be presented signed to the Technical Scrutineers before

the start of the respective session for which the tyres are allowed to be used.

An upholstery of the areas shown in yellow colour on the illustration of attach-

ment 12 is allowed by either using original Recaro paddings or using a

foamed seat insert, as long as the insert is made of fireproof material, colored

in black and its maximum thickness at any point does not exceed 50 mm in

size. The use or change is subject to approval by the series organisation.

The preferred supplier for padding components is the seat manufacturer

(Recaro). The original seat mounting (seat rails and bracket) must be retained

and must not be modified.

Ventilation in the passenger compartment

Only the factory-fitted ventilation pipe (NACA-intake on the front opening hood) is

permissible for cockpit ventilation. The ventilation of the windscreen must not

be affected.

For additional ventilation of the passenger compartment only the existing original

ventilation openings in the rear back windows are permissible.

The dimension of the NACA-intake port on the driver’s side is allowed to be

changed by taping.

c) Additional roof hatch accessories

The vehicle has an opening in the roof in order to make using the KED

system easier should it become necessary to rescue the driver. The roof

hatch is located directly above the driver and with the dimension of the

opening 420 x 420 mm.

The roof hatch is connected to the roof via 4 livelocks.

d) Ground clearance of vehicle

The minimum ground clearance of the ready-to-drive vehicle (with the driver in

the vehicle and slick tyres in compliance with Article 2.7, at 2.0 bar ±0.1 bar

air pressure) must not be less than the specified dimension, as measured at

the specified measuring points, at any time during the race event.

For the entire duration of the race event the ground clearance of the front axle

is to be a minimum of 78 mm and the clearance at the rear axle a minimum of

100 mm. The measuring points (see Attachment 9) at the front axle are the

mounting bolts (M12x105) of the cross member/bodywork in relation to the

reference surface and the machined rear surface in the direction of travel on

the side section of the rear axle in relation to the reference surface. The ground

clearance is allowed to be changed within the existing adjustment range.

Applicable to MY 2013 vehicles: For the purpose of setting the measuring

point on the front axle, the washer with part number 991.341.641.8A of exactly

10 mm thick must be removed at the measuring points (in accordance with

Attachment 9). The previously used bolts for securing the front axle carrier

(height measuring point) must be replaced with bolts with the part number

999.072.864.01 (M12x105). This results in the minimum ground clearance

at the front axle of 78 mm.

8988

Regulations PMSC 2016 Part 2 | Technical Regulations Part 2 | Technical Regulations

The front underbody must be cut out in the area of the height measuring points

in accordance with the picture in Attachment 10.

Measuring method

The minimum ground clearance of the ready-to-drive vehicle is checked using a

measuring plate and appropriate height gauges for the axle to be measured in

each case. The measurement is checked with the ready-to-drive vehicle incl. the

driver on board, standing on the measuring plate. If the measuring gauges can

be accessed under the measuring points described above, the requirement to

comply with the minimum height is satisfied. Any measuring tolerances will be

taken into account by the technical scrutineers. Verification of the vehicle ride

height can also be done with Porsche AG measuring wheels. The Technical

Scrutineers can also use instruments like a callipers or a depth gauge to

determine the vehicle height instead of a gauge.

Measurement location

The measurement is conducted on the measuring plate during technical

scrutineering. The measuring plate is available to the participating teams

to check the minimum ground clearance during this period after consultation

with the Technical Scrutineers. A check can also be made in the pit lane

for the duration of the qualifying session.

Failure to reach minimum height

Failure to reach the minimum height during the qualifying session will be

penalised with the cancellation of the times achieved by the driver concerned.

The driver is allowed, however, to take up the race from the last place on

the starting grid. Failure to reach the minimum height in the race will result in

exclusion from the points classification for the race.

e) Mounting for front silencers

Changes to the body to secure the front silencers (cutting insulation and rivet

bolt) are permitted under Attachment 11.

2.9 Aerodynamic devicesThe original position of the wing section is allowed to be changed within the

specified scope for adjustment.

Masking the central cooler in horizontal line to regulate the water temperature

of the engine is allowed. Masking of the side radiators for additional control of

the coolant temperature is only permitted if the centre radiator has already been

completely masked. The masking must comply with the Sticker Regulations.

One strip of transparent adhesive tape (max. 80 mm long, 20 mm wide) is

permitted as a fixing element on the headlights, the tail lights, the front wheel

covers (9915053668AG2X and 9915053658AG2X), at a 90° angle in relation

to the particular gaps that are taped over. Complete masking of the filler flap

on the wing is also approved.

Furthermore, the teams are allowed to tape over the full area of the headlight

lenses with transparent Heli tape, without thereby taping over a slot in the

bodywork.

Apart from that, taping over of slots in the bodywork and openings is not

allowed.

2.10 Electrical equipmentFrom the “pre-start“ to the end of the “Parc Fermé“ during qualifying and racing,

only the Series organiser and personnel nominated by the Series organiser

are allowed to connect laptops/computers to the vehicles. Any breach of this

regulation may result in the vehicle being excluded from qualifying or racing.

use. The driver has to be connected to the radio system during free practice,

qualifying and the race and must be able to receive instructions from the Race

Director or the Series organiser from the point of leaving the pre-start area

until the vehicle is parked in the Parc Fermé.

The choice of hardware for radio reception from the “Earplug” port to the driver

is optional, but must be checked and approved by the Technical Scrutineers.

When mounting fixed speakers in the driver’s helmet, the FIA helmet regulations

must be strictly observed. In the case of any ambiguity, the driver/ entrant

must produce proof that the components used are suitable for use in the vehicle

(fire prevention, etc.).

Modifications to the system are not permitted. Extra equipment is only allowed

to be coupled with the radio system by the Series organiser.

On written request by the entrant, the Series organiser can also release

the communication between team and driver. However, only the radio system

provided by the Series organiser with the corresponding modifications is

allowed to be used. The Series organiser has the right to listen to voice

radio communication between the team and the driver separately.

Should the radio system not be operational by the start of a session (free

practice, qualifying or race), the Race Director can bar the vehicle concerned

from participating in the session. Malfunctions or damage to the system must

be reported immediately to the technical scrutineers.

The radio system is the property of the Series organiser and has to be returned

to the organiser in proper order after the last race of the season.

The use of other radio-based information transmission in the vehicle (e. g.

telemetry) is forbidden.

Data recording

Use of the factory-fitted data recording system manufactured by COSWORTH

is compulsory. The COSWORTH system is assigned to the vehicle chassis

number and must not be exchanged. Only the setups approved by Porsche

are allowed to be used for the duration of the event.

All recorded data relating to the free practice, qualifying or race must be

made available to the Technical Scrutineers or the Series organiser.

The installation of steering angle sensors and brake pressure sensors and

expansion of memory to 128 MB are permitted. In this case, it is absolutely

essential to use genuine components manufactured by Porsche and COSWORTH.

Any additional electrical connection to the vehicle wiring harness is not

allowed. Installations set up by the Series organiser are exceptions to this

rule. In addition, there are no specifications regarding wiring for a battery

charging system.

Correct installation of the vehicle radio must be approved by the Technical

Scrutineers.

9392
