May 22, 2014 - APALA-NJ held its Annual Meeting & Elections on May 22, 2014 at Einhorn
Harris in Denville, NJ where current APALA-NJ President is Counsel. This year, APALA-NJ
decided to expand the 2014-2015 Executive Board to include a Board of Directors consisting of
six non-officer Directors. The officers and directors of the 2014-2015 Executive Board are as
follows:

Immediately following the meeting & elections this year was a pre-gala kick-off for all in
attendance.

June 3, 2014 – APALA-NJ Vice President Rachit J. Choksi, Esq. testified on behalf of APALA-
NJ before the New Jersey State Bar Association Task Force on Judicial Independence Public
Hearing on June 3, 2014 at Seton Hall University School of Law in Newark, NJ. Also in
attendance was APALA-NJ President Jhanice V. Domingo, Esq.
June 6, 2014 – APALA-NJ Immediate Past President Florelee Wan, Esq. and APALA-NJ
Director Eric G. Fikry, Esq. attended the Installation Dinner of Roger Lai, Esq., 83rd
President of
the Burlington County Bar Association (BCBA), on June 6, 2014 at Bradford Estate in
Hainesport, NJ. Roger Lai, Esq. is the first Asian Pacific American President of the BCBA.

June 26, 2014 – APALA-NJ held its 17th
Annual Gala on June 26, 2014 at the Liberty House
Restaurant in Jersey City, NJ. The theme of the Gala this year was “Building on Excellence.”
The Liberty House with its beautiful view of the Statue of Liberty -- symbolic of immigrants'
pursuit of excellence in this country -- was a perfect venue to kick-off the 2014-2015
Administration as we embark on the next chapter of APALA-NJ and continue building on
excellence.
Approximately 240 guests, including APALA-NJ members, sponsors, supporters, New Jersey
State Bar Association president, NJ specialty bar association leaders, members of NAPABA
affiliates (AABANY, KALAGNY, APABA-PA, etc.), and APA judges and elected officials,
