READING ROUND UPReading plays a very important part in our lives. It involves making sense of print, whether it be when we read a book, an article or an advertisement.

When children learn to read they are learning to match the spoken word to printed symbols and letters.

Tips to help your child read......

Create a positive reading environment at home. Encourage your child to read for pleasure, as well as for information.

Make reading part of every day and show children the written words that are all around them.

Make reading an activity that you and your child can both enjoy.

PSSA CRICKETOn Friday 12th May, Narrabri Public School played Moree Public at Greenbah Oval, Moree.Narrabri’s team won the coin toss and chose to bat first. Little did they know, Moree had two state level cricket, fast paced bowlers. Narrabri came out confident follow-ing a strong win over Burren Junction in the previous match, however were soon bowled out for 21 runs. TheNarrabri side showed strong resilience and tenacity and quickly made a new goal to attack in a similar manner and try to bowl or catch Moree out for minimal balls. The team showed impressive bowling and catching skills with Angus Ciesiolka, Miles Campbell and Tashanny Clarke displaying impressive skills. Angus caught 2 people out, Miles showed strong team communication skills and bowled straight and Tashanny displayed strong all-round skills. The team gave their best, but Moree was simply the better side in the end and will be a strong force to beat in the next round (round 5- Tamworth). Congratulations to all in the team, especially Angus who won man of the match for most improved. A huge thank you is also deserved to the parents for transporting the children and also performing extra jobs such as scoring and umpiring.
