NARRABRI SHOW 2019

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT It is a pleasure to be presenting the 2019 Narrabri Show. It’s also an honour to continue the tradition of the many previous Narrabri Show committees that have worked to present the annual agricultural show since the first Show held in 1876. With the Nandewar Ranges providing a picturesque setting as a backdrop to our centrally located showgrounds, the Show is a wonderful couple of days for people to enjoy the talent and skill of our local people through competitions and exhibits. It has been pleasing to see our annual visitor numbers growing steadily over the past few years and the number of entries and range of exhibits has been wonderful. The theme for this years’ Show is “Kicking up the Dust” and it is set to be a most spectacular event with a huge entertainment programme as well as competitions, pavilion displays and much more for Narrabri residents and visitors to enjoy. On behalf of the Committee, I would like to thank you for your interest and support of the 2019 Show. I would like to encourage you to take time to have a look at the various pavilions and ring exhibits that are on display to appreciate how very talented the people of Narrabri are. I would also like to acknowledge the tireless contribution from stewards, volunteers and my fellow committee members as well as our very generous local sponsors and supporters. It is through the team effort of all involved that we are able to continue to host our local Show. I hope you get as much enjoyment out of visiting and participating in the 2019 Show as we have had in organising the event. Kind Regards
Cheryl Pawley
President

Did you know… Voluntary work is recognised as a valuable part of life in Australia. It contributes to community participation and the building of social connections. In the General Social Survey, a volunteer was defined as someone who, in the previous 12 months, willingly gave unpaid help, in the form of time, service or skills, through an organisation or group. The Australian Bureau of Statistics estimates that around 5.8 million people (31% of Australian adults) participated in voluntary work during the survey year of 2014, contributing around 743 million hours to the community.
