Narrative Structure
Hannah Kenyon
Narrative structure
• Open narrative – the audience is left to make up their own mind at the end.
• Closed narrative – there is a definite ending and outcome.• Single stand narrative – there is only one main plot throughout.• Multi stranded narrative- there are many sub cuts which
interweave.• Linear narrative – the narrative is told in chronological order.• Non linear narrative- time is disrupted in some way .e.g. flashbacks.• Circular narrative – there is a question at the start which is revisited
at the end.
These can tie in with open narratives.
