Malin Kundang

On one day, there lived a family in the coastal regions of Sumatra. The family has a son named Malin Kundang. Because of their very poor family conditions, then the master's father decided to go across the country.

Large master and his mother hopes that someday his father came back with a lot of money that will be able to buy daily necessities. After months old master's father apparently did not come, and finally pupuslah Malin Kundang and her mother's expectations.

Malin Kundang After growing up, he was thinking of making a living in the country side in the hope that later when I returned to my hometown, he was already a wealthy man. Finally Malin Kundang go sailing along with a merchant ship captain in his hometown that has been successful.

During their stay in the ship, Malin Kundang lot to learn about seamanship on the crew who are already experienced. Malin diligently learn about shipping on their friends who are more experienced, and finally he was very skilled in terms of shipping.

Many have visited the island, until one day in the middle of the trip, suddenly climbed Malin Kundang ship attacked by pirates. All merchandise traders who were on the ship seized by pirates. Even most of the crew and people on board was killed by the pirates. Malin Kundang very lucky he was not killed by the pirates, because when it happened, Malin immediately hid in a small space enclosed by the timber.

Malin Kundang float amid sea, until finally the ship in which he stranded on a beach. With the remaining available power, Malin Kundang walk towards the nearest village from the coast. Arriving in the village, Malin Kundang helped by people in the village after previously telling what happened to him. Malin village where villagers stranded is very fertile. With tenacity and perseverance in working, over time Malin had become a wealthy man. He has many fruit merchant ship with a child of more than 100 people. After becoming rich, Malin Kundang to marry a girl to be his wife.

After some time to get married, Malin and his wife made the voyage with a large and beautiful ship with the crew and a lot of bodyguards. Malin Kundang mothers who stay with their children every day, saw a very beautiful ship, entered the harbor. He saw two people standing on the deck. He believes that it is standing Malin Kundang son and his wife.

Malin Kundang stepped down from the ship. He was greeted by his mother. Once close enough, his mother saw right dilengan dozen injured person, the more assured his mother that he was approached Malin Kundang. "Malin Kundang, my son, why did you go so long without sending a word?", He said, hugging Malin Kundang. But Kundang immediately release her mother's arms and pushed him up to fall. "Women do not know myself, as my mother said carelessly," said Malin Kundang at his mother. Malin Kundang pretended not to recognize her mother, embarrassed by her mother who is old and wearing tattered clothes. "She's your mother?", Malin Kundang wife . "No, he was just a beggar who pretended to be admitted as a mom to get my treasure," Malin said to his wife.

Hearing statement and treated arbitrarily by his son, the mother of Malin Kundang very angry. He did not expect their children to be children of disobedience. Because anger is mounting, Malin's mother lifted her hand as she said "Oh God, if he was my son, I cursed him into a stone." Not long afterwards the wind storm rumbled loudly and came to destroy the ship Malin Kundang. After that Malin Kundang body slowly becomes rigid and eventually finally shaped into a rock.

Two ducks who lived in a big lake had a friend who was a turtle. One year there was a very little rain and the lake began to dry up.

COMPLICATIONOne of the ducks said to

the other, “Soon, there’ll be no water in this lake. Let’s go and look for lake.”“Yes, answered the second duck, “But first let’s say good bye to our friend, the turtle.”When they told the turtle they were going to leave, he said, “I’ll die here without any water and without any friends. Take me with you.”

“The ducks answered, “We can’t. We are going to fly, and you have no wings.”“The turtle thought for a minute and then said, “please wait here.”Then he went away and found a strong, straight stick.

He brought it back to his friends, put the middle of it in his mouth and said, “Now if each of you takes me one end of the stick in his mouth, you can lift me up and carry me with you.”

“ Their is one danger,” said the ducks, “if you try to talk while we’re carrying you through the air, you won’t be able to hold the stick, so you’ll fall down along way and break your shell.”“all right,” answered the turtle, “I promise not to talk while we’re in the air.

So the ducks took the stick and flew away, with the turtle between them. All went well until they were flying over a town. Then some people saw them and shouted, “Look, those ducks are carrying a cat!”The turtle got very angry, “A cat? I’m not …” he said, but he did not get any further, because when he opened his mouth, the stick came out of his mouth and the poor turtle fell to the ground.
