TANGAROA UNIT FEATURES

Elemental Controls - The system controller is programmed to regulate and monitor the Tangaroa for maximized efficiencies. The controls incorporate an LCD messaging/ notification screen with a simple keypad to promote functionality through ease of use. On board diagnostics and user menus afford easy modification of home comfort levels, provide instant alerts to system faults and further assist in component troubleshooting and servicing.

R-410A - A high performance refrigerant that can absorb and release heat more efficiently than R22, the former industry standard. R-410A is an environmentally friendly refrigerant that does not deplete the Earth’s ozone layer.

Scroll Compressors - Hermetically sealed scroll compressors provide years of efficient, quiet and reliable performance. The compressors synthetic lubricants mix and circulate efficiently with R-410A keeping the compressor and other moving parts resistant to internal damage while extending their life.

The Elemental Tangaroa is a high efficiency, eco-friendly reversible hydronic system that provides heating & chilled water at a fraction of the cost and energy required of conventional systems. The Tangaroa is engineered exclusively with the green, performance enhancing refrigerant R410A and integrates the most advanced user-friendly controls available on the market today. Dual Speed Compressor - A two-stage scroll compressor provides the ultimate in comfort and efficiency. When only partial conditioning is required, the compressor operates at a lower capacity to save additional energy while always maintaining a pleasant living environment.

Desuperheater - This hot water assist add-on provides supplemental Domestic Hot Water production by preheating your potable water supply for delivery to your hot water tank whenever the unit is running. All Tangaroa models equipped with a Desuperheater option are installed with an internally mounted circulating pump.

Cupronickel Heat Exchanger - Cupronickel is used for those applications where harsh water conditions exist on the source and/or load side.

GEOEXCHANGE LOOP-FIELD CONFIGURATIONS

Geofinity installers are trained to assess and provide the optimum type of geo-field design for each specific project site. The most favorable loop configuration will be determined through consideration of geological conditions, available land space, drilling & trenching requirements and the ensuing overall installation costs.

ELEMENTAL CONTROLS - IT’S “SMART” TECHNOLOGY

Geofinity has incorporated proprietary controls into it’s entire product line, designed to regulate and monitor the system for maximum efficiencies. No other equipment in the GeoExchange space possesses the same “integrated” controls capabilities. The controller houses a keypad and a liquid crystal diode, or LCD screen.

The LCD screen constantly displays active and stored data, providing the operator with quality of service and performance. The keypad is outfitted with simple, easy to understand, colored pads and directional arrows that simplify data collection and storage. The system is designed to provide standard notifications, such as the outside temperature, set point and inside temperature, troubleshooting notifications, as well as changeover from heating to cooling and the existence of a fouled or dirty air filter.

Open-Loop SystemThis type of system is used when an abundant supply of quality well water is available. Ground water is withdrawn from the aquifer/well and pumped into the heat pump. The discharge water is directed to a secondary well. The supply aquifer/well must have adequate capacity to provide flow for the heat pump and domestic water.

Pond/Lake LoopIf the site has an adequate body of water close to the residence, approx. 1/2 acre by 8 feet deep, this may be the lowest cost option. Supply and return pipes are run underground from the home to the pond/lake and connected to a series of closed coils. These coils are submerged to the bottom of the pond/lake.

Vertical LoopVertical systems are used when land area is limited. For a vertical system, holes are drilled 10-20 feet apart and 100-400 feet deep in a grid matrix. A pair of pipes that are connected at the bottom with a U-bend are inserted into each bore hole. The pipes are then manifolded together and brought into the home.

Horizontal LoopThis type of installation is generally the most cost-effective for residential installations where sufficient land is available. It requires trenches to be dug by a backhoe or trencher to approximately 6 feet. GeoExchange pipe is then layered in the trenches, and the trenches are backfilled with soil.
