Time Alloted: 3 HRS AND 10 MINUTES
Using the given supplies, materials, tools and equipment, the candidate must be able to perform the following:
Demonstrate how to mount harrow to a tractor and do actual harrowing of the field (30 mins)
Demonstrate how to gather soil samples for soil analysis (30 mins)
Demonstrate how to operate tractor with disc plow (30 mins)
Demonstrate how to cultivate land using animal driven plow (30 mins)
Demonstrate how to prepare a planting bed using tractor with bedding implement or the animal given a specified planting distance in a 50-square meter area (e.g. 0.75 m between hills and 1 meter between rows for tomato) (30 mins)
Develop a field layout for a specified topography and soil type for a specific crop (e.g. sloping area with clay loam soil for tomato production) (30 mins)
Demonstrate how to compute for the seed/seedling requirement per hectare given a specific crop and planting distance (e.g. 0.75 m between hills and 1 meter between rows for tomato) (10 mins)
