Museum Education Members are: Younger. 53% are under 40, compared to NAEA as a whole
where only 38% are under 40. Newer to the field. 47% have less than 10 years of
experience, 74% have less than 20 years. (For NAEA as a whole, the proportion is opposite—60% have 20 or more years of experience)
Satisfied. 87% would recommend NAEA to a colleague. Room for improvement. Only 29% said you are very satisfied. Primary reasons for joining:

Research Question: What are the benefits to students of engaging with original works of art within the context of object-based art museum programs that take place during the formal school day?
How do I get more involved?
How are Development Committee Members Chosen? Regional Representatives, along with the Directors, comprise
the Development Committee Development Committee members are nominated and
selected by current and upcoming Directors and Development Committee.
Selection Criteria: Actively presented at conferences and/or contributed to the field Have shown leadership and also expressed interest in national leadership Can think both with their specific area of museum education and also broadly

What will session participants learn? Present programs and ideas that show rigor and
