2.12 How does IQAC Contribute/Monitor/Evaluate the Teaching & Learning processes:

Every Faculty and Department shall have a Quality Cell for continuously updating information and

supplying the same to IQAC at the central level. The Quality Cell at the departmental level shall

prepare the roadmap of qualitative teaching and Research. The Departmental Quality cell shall have

one Professor (who will act as the Coordinator), one Associate Professor and one Assistant Professor.

The members shall be nominated by the PPC of the department.

To enhance research, the University has announced Research Promotion Policy. This

policy has 3 components:

a) Provision of seed grants

b) Incentivisation of research

c) Facilitation of filing patents

In order to encourage research, the University has recently introduced research policy,

which entitles each faculty member for a grant of Rs. 1,00,000/-

3.26 Major Activities during the year in the sphere of extension activities and Institutional Social

Responsibility

Faculty and students are encouraged to participate in carrying out social outreach programs.

Information regarding these programs is disseminated through notices and teacher-in-charge of NSS

incharge. The aim of these activities is to involve the students in the broad based chapter of nation

building and social responsibility. Institute appreciates the services provided by students and faculty

by considering their working for such activities as on duty. Some of the salient contributions of

RCPSR to social responsibilities include:

1. Health Camps: In continuation of its human endeavour and to bring about health awareness

to the people in the region, the Health Camps have been regularly organized by the NSS unit

of RCPSR under “Mukhyamantri Balsandarbha Yojana” in the slum areas of Bhilai. The aim

of the health camps is to spread health awareness, health assessment, and to provide health

counseling. The students of the RCPSR, Bhilai evaluates general health parameters like

hemoglobin levels, blood pressure, blood sugar, BMI check-up and body weight of women.

The NSS team also give valuable information and suggestions to the people regarding

maintenance of general hygienic conditions during their day to day activities. Moreover,

team offers free neutraceuticals to them. Through this activity, the pharmacy students became

aware about their social responsibilities as a pharmacist. This human endeavour of RCPSR

has been well received and appreciated by the public.

2. Blood donation camps: The NSS Unit of RCPSR has organized at least one Blood Donation

Camps every year in collaboration with Durg District Hospital Blood Bank, Red Cross

Society or Apollo Hospital, Bhilai. The activity is carried out under the supervision of

Medical Officers. The faculty members donate the blood and motivate the students for the

blood donation. Students and staff members of Santosh Rungta Group of Institutions, Bhilai

have voluntarily donated the blood with a great enthusiasm. NSS team is honoured and feel

privileged to make Blood Donation an annual event of celebration.

3. Health Awareness programmes: The NSS of RCPSR Bhilai has been engaged in

conducting awareness programmes. We have adopted village Dhour under “Gode Gram

Yojana” and organized seminar in Government Higher Secondary School of the village. The

main objectives of the seminar were to create awareness among the students about various

first aid measures that they can take in case of common and life threatening emergencies like

road accidents, snake bite etc. The Participants were the Students and the Faculty Members of

Government Higher Secondary School, Dhour; and the Faculties and the Volunteers of

RCPSR, Bhilai.

4. Health Awareness rallies: On the occasion of National Pharmacy Week or World

health problems. Students prepare banners and organized Nukkad Natak to aware the people

The upgradation of computer systems is taken up on a periodic basis as and when the

necessity arises. For example, whenever the new technology or new processor based systems

are introduced in the market, the systems are upgraded. Also, the system replacement is done

with new systems whenever a particular system is found beyond repair. The old computers

are used for hardware and networking courses being introduced as add-on courses. Due to

rapid changes in the IT technology, the college annually plans to replace or add at least 5%

of the computers with the newer hardware versions so that there is a gradual change over of

the hardware with a period of time.

The IT infrastructure is also upgraded in terms of the software again due to frequent

revisions and updations in the newer software released.

services including career guidance cell, counselling cell, for disseminating guidance related to future

The overall development and upgardation of curriculum in our institute is maintained by constant

resolute effort and communication with all participants’ like-management, faculty, staff, students

Modern curriculum benchmarked against the best Universities has been introduced.

Teaching learning process has an extensive use of computers. Soft skills have been introduced as a

part of the curriculum. Our teaching learning process comprise with determination of level of the

course according to Bloom’s taxonomy. It also includes time to time validation of the gap if any

through alumni feedback as well as through internet search of industrial sites. Syllabus is revised

time to time for gap analysis. Wherein, in 2017 AICTE introduced new syllabus.Efforts have been

taken to identify the content beyond syllabus through alumni feedback and industries expertise. For

effective teaching and learning process semester wise whatsapp group has been created which

consist of students and all the concerned faculty of the particular semester.

Our institute has an abundant collection of books, journals (National/International), thesis, project

reports, etc. The Resource centre has a collection of more than 5000+ books covering not only all

aspects of pharmacy but also including related areas like Biotechnology, Quality control, Regulatory

affairs, communication skill, etc. It has around 1400+ reference books, 19 journal subscription, e-

journals (86), etc. Library has a seating of around 150 students. Our institute has good infrastructure. It

has a campus area of 151840.18 sq. ft. We have well ventilated classrooms with area around 13125 sq. ft.

Laboratories have an area of 18875 sq. ft. The Organisation also consists of nice seminar hall with area

around 5000 sq. ft. Our institute has good equipment availability that makes our infrastructure strong.

Around 90+ instruments are present which helps in building an efficient infrastructure of our institute.

The examination scheme of our institute consists of 2 internal exams. For first semester students, we

have a pattern of pre final Examination which makes student aware and also prepare them to face the

university examination in pre-planned manner.

The rules, processes, categories of offences and corresponding penalties relating to adoption of unfair

means by students during University examinations were reviewed and subsequently revised to deter the

students from adoption of Unfair Means during the University examinations.

For evaluation, a well statistical technique (an excel spread sheet) is used which include assessment of

internal examination marks, practical, assignment, quiz, etc. This system provides parity in the

evaluation system. Another evaluation system called the Digital Evaluation system has been provided

by the university to our institute for evaluation of answer scripts on university level.

The faculty recruitment is managed by Human Resource cell. This is done strictly by following the

norms laid by AICTE, UGC, State Government and University. Monitoring every faculty professional

development and felicitating their notable achievement at the time of institutional gathering.

The admission process for the entry of a graduate into the Pharmacy is governed by State level common

entrance test i.e. Pre Pharmacy Test (PPHT) conducted by Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board,

Raipur, for the purpose of determining merit list for admission to B. Pharmacy. The seats for pharmacy

courses of first and second year (Lateral Entry) are available in technical institutions of the Chhattisgarh

State, displayed on official website- www.cgdteraipur.ac.in of Directorate of Technical Education, Naya

Raipur (C.G.) before commencement of counseling process for every academic session. In all the whole

admission process for the graduates is done though online portal. In case of Post-graduation the counseling

is done based on the score of GPAT exam. The process is same as in case of the graduates. Moreover, the

dates of counseling programme is published in the state/national level newspapers and uploaded on

website of the Directorate of Technical Education www.cgdteraipur.ac.in, and respective websites for

online counseling of different courses.

Yes, college has efficient faculty team of 36 members. Out of these 5 faculty members are with PhD

qualification and 4 faculty members are pursuing PhD. If there is any short fall, the management tries to

make an immediate solution by hiring new staff. The hiring process is carried out by an interview

process. This process includes some members along with Principal and HODs of different departments.

Final decision is made by management in support of Principal of the institute.

College makes consistent efforts to bring industry-institution interaction about the industrial requirement

and the curriculum gap. For this industrial visits are planned time to time for the benefit of students.

Moreover, seminars promoting student interest towards industries are apprehended. Also, faculty

members give guidance to PG students regarding industrial project which can help them in their M.

Pharm work. Institute also supports students for small training programs, projects, etc.
