Everyone is a CBR worker
Results• Building on what is there already, on existing success: LISTEN• Training and Development Committee formed and recognized as
official wing of National Council; curriculum established• Network of specialist resource persons and alliances• Systems being established• LGUs taking on CBR: Entry into 14 of first batch of 15 “pioneers”• Training of Trainers Module finalized –training for 6 regional
teams in April• Finalizing training modules: SHARING RESOURCES• Training being provided on technical skills to the pioneers,
through the Committee, alliance members, academe• Another 70 + LGUs being enabled by NGOs• Local government leaders advocating CBR with their peers• Promoting enablement among NGOs• Monitoring and mentoring, enhancing existing systems• CBR Manual-Guidelines to be published in April• CBR National Summit in June
Concerns and Issues• Additional 18 months needed to refine plans • Revolving government personnel • Need to get everyone on board & on same page• Need for community organizers and mentors with
disabilities to work with emerging DPOs• Slow shift to enablement for some organizations• Need to ensure regular supervision, mentoring and
monitoring• Alliances need constant nurturing• Are we reaching more people? Are we making a
difference to people’s lives and the life of the community? ASK THEM!
We need community organizers!
