MAIN PURPOSE OF POSTProvide organisational leadership on the ask me scheme and hold overall accountability for the delivery and quality of the scheme across multiple sites. DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIESRole specific responsibilities1. Quality Assurance

and principles of scheme 1.8Ensure ‘ask me’ partners are working according to MOU/Licence or grant

agreements

1.9Produce written reports as required for funders and partners on the quality and impact of the scheme

2. Ambassador Support and Sustainability

2.1 Work with local coordinators to provide a national community of ambassadors using digital platforms and community builder resources

2.2 Support local areas to determine suitability of potential ambassadors according to WAFE/WWA best practice guidance

2.3 Provide annual meet up opportunities for ambassadors2.4 Collate local information on impact and successes for quarterly

newsletters/Facebook groups and digital networks for ambassadors with news from membership, policy and campaigns and media updates and regular calls to action

2.5 Work with team members to evaluate the ambassadors experiences and actions and the impact of these on wider community attitudes

2.6 Maintain accurate records of ambassador details, engagement and attrition rates

3. Evaluation

3.1 Work with data officer, sister federated Women’s Aid charities, and pilot sites to hold overall understanding of impact of the programme

3.2 Checking metrics and monitoring fit for purpose and carrying out annual review of monitoring tools

3.3 Sharing impact across ambassadors, members, women’s aid organisations and funders

4. Supporting Partnerships

4.1 Act as a key point of contact for the project for the delivery team, other colleagues, delivery partners and external stakeholders.

4.1 Ensure regular and effective communicate with project partners, making sure that they are aware of their commitments, that these commitments are reflected in project plans and they are fully briefed as plans evolve.

4.3 Maintain a positive dialogue with other stakeholders about the projects and respond to queries as appropriate.

4.4 Network and promote the work of Women’s Aid, identifying and progressing potential partners to support our work.

5. Supporting a Network of TrainersOvertime, across England we will build a pool of specialist trainers who have been licenced supported by WAE to deliver ‘ask me’. This role will be responsible for understanding the ‘ask me’ magic and ensuring that it is embodied by these women. In addition we will require the coordination of this network of women, sharing best practice, capacity building, trouble shooting and ensuring consistency with delivery.

6. Maintain oversight of the project budget, regularly reviewing project expenditure against the agreed budget, and ensuring that financial monitoring and reporting requirements are being met

7. Ensure all work aligns with and represents the values and ethos of Women’s Aid.

8. To keep the EMT and other relevant staff up to date on all project delivery progress and issues through regular internal briefings

9. To maintain clear and adequate records of work done and to produce reports on work programmes and activities as required

10.To take direction on priorities from the Director of Services, which may vary from time to time

11.To carry out word-processing, filing, and administrative tasks necessary to comply with the job description

SUMMARY OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Terms of appointment: Confirmation of appointment will be subject to the satisfactory completion of a probationary period. This will normally be of six months (less for short term contracts). During this time an employee will be expected to establish their suitability for the post. During the probationary period employment may be terminated in writing, giving one week's notice by either party (this may be waived by mutual agreement). Only any statutory dismissal procedure will apply during the probationary period. There is no probationary period for contracts of under 3 months.

Salary: £35,249. (On an incremental scale guided by the NJC Local authority pay scale points 41-45) + benefits. Salary is paid in arrears through bank credit by the 25th of each month. Part time staff receive pro-rata payment based on hours worked.

Working hours: The standard working hours for this post are 37 hours per week, based in Bristol, London or remotely; benefits include a generous bank holidays and annual leave package and contributory pension scheme.

Support and supervision: Women’s Aid has a commitment to providing regular supervision and support to staff with annual appraisals forming a key part of staff development. We have a training policy in place and encourage staff to take an active role in their career development plan. Pension: Women’s Aid is enrolled with the People’s Pension scheme. Women’s Aid normally contributes 7% of salary and the employee contributes 3% towards the group pension scheme. Eligible staff will be automatically enrolled on the scheme when they have successfully completed the 3 month interim probationary review. .

Annual Leave: Women’s Aid offers an annual leave entitlement of 25 days per year rising by one day per year until 30 days annual leave per year is reached. In addition, we offer 8 days public holidays plus 2 additional days in March and August. All leave entitlement is calculated pro-rata for part time employees.

Other leave: Employees have contractual rights to time off for reasons of sickness, maternity and other circumstances.

Period of notice: 3 months after your probationary period has been completed.

Union: You have a right to membership of a trade union. Women’s Aid recognises Unison.

Asylum and Immigration Act 1996: To confirm your right to work in the UK, Women’s Aid will need to see the original of at least one document from a specified list (available on the gov.uk website). Most commonly this is a British Passport.
