Other bi-lateral research funding opportunities at CNRS-L
Joint Programme between the CNRS-L and the CNR-Italy
• Aims at enhancing and strengthening cooperation, mobility and exchange of knowledge between Lebanese and Italian researchers.
• Joint calls for proposals are launched yearly, particularly in the fields of: Marine Sciences & Biodiversity, Management of Natural Resources, Renewable Energy, Food Security, Archeology, and Water.
• Total budget per Call: 80,000€ (40,000€ to be paid by CNRS-L and 40,000 € to be paid by CNR-Italy);
• 4,000 € to the Lebanese team & 4,000 € to the Italian team per year (over 2 years).
• Each project should be composed of three universities at least:
• The project leader must be a Lebanese institution member of the AUF
• The partner institutions must be members of the AUF but from 2 different regions that have diplomatic relations with Lebanon
Total budget per Call: 18,000 Euros from the AUF and 18,000 Euros from CNRS-L for each call (+18,000 Euros co-funded with Lebanese Partner institution)
• Aims at strengthening the scientific knowledge of Lebanese and Middle Eastern universities, developscientific cooperation between universities, Supporting young researchers, support the transfer of skills,support the production and dissemination of knowledge in the Middle East

The calls for proposals are part of the PRIMA Annual Work Plan 2018; which covers the priorities described in the PRIMA Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA)under the three PRIMA thematic areas:
PRIMA programme activities will be implemented as follows:
SECTION 1: Actions and activities (Research & Innovation Actions (RIA), and Innovation actions (IA), as defined in the General Annexes of H2020) organized, managed and funded by PRIMA Foundation.
SECTION 2: Activities (Research and Innovation Activities (RIA) based on national rules) selected following transnational open and competitive calls for proposals, organized by PRIMA Foundation and funded by the national funding bodies of PS.
➢ Partnership based on Equal footing, mutual interest and shared benefits among all participating countries: EU States, Associated Countries & Mediterranean Partner Countries (Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco)
➢ Long-term orientation & continuity: With a 10 year perspective for research cooperation (Based on Yearly Calls - over 7 Years); ensuring continuity and active involvement of research stakeholders and actors.
➢ Lebanese contribution is ensured by the CNRS-L for upto 500,000 Euros/Call (cost-shared with participating universities/research centers).
