What is the NDLR
• Pilot project with a 3 year life span with an end goal of producing a full ongoing repository service.
• Repository for “Teaching Resources”
• Technology hosted by HEAnet
• Funded by the HEA
• Run by the NDLR partners.

• To Investigate and pilot:– A Digital Learning Resource Repository– A small set of Tools to facilitate easy population of &
retrieval from the repository– Guidance on Copyright, DRM, methodologies etc– Explicit support for :
• Best Practice in the development of learning resources• Dissemination and “awareness raising” programs• Nurturing communities to encourage successful implementation of
the repository

• Storage, management and retrieval of any digital format including (complex) digital resources
• Tools for Resource Management e.g. workflow, import Packages, …
• Digital Rights Management• Integration with external authentication, • Interfaces for existing library systems, portals etc.• Searching and structured browsing of the repository
