What is NDLI? • A 24X7-enabled Umbrella Digital Library:
Integrated centralized access to e-contents hosted by different institutes/organizations
• A Single window search/browse facility • Covers all academic levels, all disciplines • Can handle content of any language: contains
contents of all major Indian languages • Indian language User Interface: Currently
available in Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Kannada & Oriya, Assamese will be made available soon
• Facilitates institutes/organizations to disseminate e-contents which are under exclusive control of respective institutes/organizations: IDR (Institutional Digital Repository) Service

How to Start a NDLI Club ● Register the Club using a Google Form; Club structure
○ Patron: Head of the Institute ○ President: Librarian or a Teacher (In-charge of the Club) ○ Secretary: Student (Organizing Club activities/events) ○ Executive Members: 3-4 students who will assist the Secretary in organizing
Club activities/events
● Club authorities (Patron, President, Secretary, Executive Members) to get all students of the institute registered in NDLI website ○ List all students (First name, Last name and valid e-mail id) in an excel file ○ Send the list to NDLI-NERC for bulk registration ○ Follow up with students to ensure that each one activates the registration
● Conduct User training for the students
Conduct Club Events ● Plan events
○ One event per month ○ Set up a calendar for the event, at least for 6 months; preferably for the full
academic year ○ Decide on the activity to be conducted for each event ○ For each activity find out contents to be used (at least one content should be
from NDLI website )
● Decide on date, time and venue of the event ● Communicate the date, time and venue of the event to each student ● Conduct the event and collect the outcome (say PDF files, Videos,
Photos) ● Record the event data in a Google sheet ● Share the outcome and event data with NDLI-NERC
Type of Activities that may be conducted in the Events
● Debate on a topic based on contents available in NDLI website: Inter class competition
● Write-on Session, based on a topic, contents of which are available in NDLI website
● Quiz based on IIT-JEE Question and Solutions available in NDLI website
● Tutorials on common subjects taught in 1st year undergraduate courses with suggested reading materials available in NDLI website
● Publication of college Newsletter: contributor, moderator, subject editor all are students
● Lecture series for students on topics, contents of which are available in NDLI website
● Training sessions on areas like how to write professional e-mail, create impressive CV/Biodata, interview etiquette
● Talk by renowned professionals on Career Approaches and Opportunities
Support provided by NDLI ● Set up the web-based Platform (Club website and IT
infrastructure) for setting up and operation of Clubs in Virtual mode
● Set up processes/workflow for set up, operation (both in Virtual mode as well as Physical mode) and monitoring of Clubs
● Provide materials (PPT, Handout, Collateral, Posters, Quiz/Collection Banks etc.) required for webinar, training, set up, conducting activities and operation of Clubs
● Organize annual all-India level meet of star members of the Clubs
● Facilitate the overall Mission

● Providing materials to conduct the training session on NDLI ● Setting up Google forms and sheets for registration of Clubs
and recording activities conducted ● Guidance on NDLI contents and tips to conduct Club
