Presenter Profile: Nora Vele
● Executive Director of Global Diversity & Inclusion and Compliance for Merck.
● Provides strategic direction on all aspects of the company's compliance programs.
● Leads Merck’s Diversity & Inclusion Ambassador Team, a cross-functional group of leaders focused on disability inclusivity which helps to drive the organization's business imperatives.
● Nora has over 20 years of demonstrated expertise in developing cutting-edge programs, design of metrics and measurement tools and change efforts.

Presenter Profile: Gerardine Mobley
● Gerardine (Gerri) Mobley is currently a VP, Senior Diversity and Inclusion Relationship Manager at TD Bank.
● Progressive experience leading the execution of various organizations’ internal and external Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity & Inclusion initiatives, policies, programs, and community partnerships.
● Gerri has nearly 20 years of experience in all aspects of developing, implementing, and assessing equal opportunity, affirmative action, diversity and inclusion initiatives, policies, and programs.
● She is PHR certified and holds a trainer and facilitator certification since 2000.
● She earned a Doctorate degree in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from George Mason University and Master’s degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Presenter Profile: Russell Shaffer
● Russell Shaffer is Director – Brand Strategy, Outreach and Benchmarking in the Office of Global Culture, Diversity & Inclusion at Walmart, and reports directly to the Chief Culture, Diversity & Inclusion Officer.
● He and his team have responsibility for visual and messaging strategy; executive and enterprise communication; and strategic relationships related to the company’s global culture, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
● Russell joined Walmart in 2006 and has held roles managing global internal communications and benefits communications.
● In a previous role as Senior Manager – Constituent Relations, Russell managed Walmart’s corporate strategy and stakeholder outreach for the people with disabilities and aging constituencies.
● Russell has previously served two terms as Chair of Walmart’s inABLE Associate Resource Group; has been a board member of Sources for Community Independent Living in Fayetteville, Arkansas since 2012; and was elected Chair of the Board of Trustees for the American Foundation for the Blind (AFB) in November 2017 after joining the AFB Board in October 2015.

● The month kicks off with an Empathy Lab which is designed to provide an experience for participants that will guide them in designing products and services that are accessible to, and usable by, as many people as reasonably possible.
● Two interactive sessions focused on four empathy tools are aimed to enable decision makers to experience mobility, cognitive, hearing, and sight limitations experienced by others.
● The empathy tools are intended to generate a dialogue among participants in how they can demonstrate inclusive behaviors through inclusive design.

● The iLab is a “hack-a-thon” used to solve any problem that enhances the ways in which we live, shop, and/or have experiences.
