The paintings and sculpture comprising the Mellon, Kress, Widener and Dale Collections with gifts from other donors are located on the main floor.

Opening October 29. Canadian Painting. An ex­ hibition arranged by the National Gallery of Canada with 87 paintings from the 18th century to the pres­ ent. Central Gallery.

Makers of History in Washington, 1800-1950.Through November 19. Main Floor.European Paintings from the Gulbenkian Collec­ tion. Main Floor.

Twelve folders and envelopes (3 secular subjects) with color reproductions of painting. Eight folders and envelopes (3 secular subjects) with reproduc­ tions of etchings, engravings, woodcuts, etc. Price 10 cents a folder plus postage. A descriptive circular will be sent on request.

Catalogue: Canadian Painting. Ai. exhibition ar­ ranged by the National Gallery of Canada; 56 pages, 47 illustrations, one color reproduction. Forewords by David E. Finley and the Right Honorable Vincent Massey, C.H.; introductory essay by R. H. Hubbard.Volume entitled, The Index of American Designdeals with the various folk arts of this country. Text by Ervvin O. Christensen, Curator of the Index, Na­ tional Gallery of Art; 378 reproductions (117 in color), size 9" x 12" 248 pages; $15.00 postpaid.

On Thanksgiving Day, November 23, the Gallery will be open to visitors, but no educational services will be rendered.
