Group ProjectsIf you decide to do a project as a groups please know that
the entire groups will be graded together. So make sure that you choose your groups wisely.
Getting StartedYou must avoid the classic pitfall of choosing a group first.
1. Choose a topic that interests you.2. Decide which category best fits your topic.
3. Figure out if you want to work in a group and do all group members want to research the topic you have
chosen.
Group ProjectsAll groups must be able to work together effectively, get over arguments, sometimes agree to disagree in order to move on and be able to create and share a vision of what
the final product will look like.
Group ProjectsSchedule
One of the first things you should do as a group is to create a schedule of when and where you are going to
meet. Do this with your parents so that they are available to bring you to places like the library or for getting
supplies.
The Pitfalls of Doing a Group ProjectBe very careful who you choose to be in your NHD group.
Make sure that you will be able to work together effectively .
The Pitfalls of Doing a Group ProjectDo not choose your boyfriend or girlfriend. You may breakup and still
have to work on the project together – awkward!
The Pitfalls of Doing a Group ProjectDo not choose lazy partners, even if they are your friends.
You will end up doing all the work and they will get the same grade as you.
The Pitfalls of Doing a Group ProjectAvoid having busy people in your group. It will be difficult to
schedule meeting times and they will not contribute in a way you want them too.
The Pitfalls of Doing a Group Project
Make sure that everyone in the group knows what they are responsible for and what role they should play.
