PRASHIKSHAK

Ministry of Human Resource Development

‘Prashikshak’ - a teacher education portal

‘Prashikshak’ is launched with a vision to strengthen District Institutes of Education and

Training (DIETs) and bring quality teachers into the Indian school education system.

Prashikshak was established through joint collaboration between Ministry of Human Resource

Development and Central Square Foundation.

The objective of Prashikshak is to define quality benchmarks and help DIETs to make

informed decisions about their institutes, compare the performance of their institute against

other DIETs in the state/country as well as helping aspiring teachers make informed decision

making.

VIDYANJALI

Vidyanjali - (School Volunteer Programme) is an initiative of the Ministry of Human Resource

Development, Department of School Education & Literacy to enhance community and private

sector involvement in Government run elementary schools across the country under the overall

aegis of the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan.

This programme has been envisaged to bring together people willing to volunteer their services at

schools which really need them.

The volunteers will act as mentors, confidantes and communicators with children.

The application is an interactive mobile platform which facilitates communication between the

two stakeholders helping institutions to post their academic and non-academic requirements

seeking suitable volunteers for the specified role.

SAMEEP

Ministry of External Affairs

SAMEEP stands for Students and MEA Engagement Program

It is an outreach mission that aims to take Indian foreign policy and its global engagements to

students across country and also to look at diplomacy as a career option.

The objective of outreach program is to familiarise school and college students in India about

functioning of the MEA

It also seeks to introduce them to key elements of India’s foreign policy and its success stories.

It is a voluntary programme for MEA officials, undersecretary and above with option of going

back to any school or college in their hometown or to their alma mater.

The officers will convey how MEA works, India’s foreign policy, how they do diplomacy so

that student consider about this as a career option.

TECHNICAL EDUCATION QUALITY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMME

Ministry of Human Resource Development

(TEQIP) aims to overhaul the quality of technical education in the Low Income States and

Special Category States (SCS).-The project commenced with the World Bank assistance to

Government of India to launch a TEQIP as a long term programme of 10-12 years and in 2 or 3

phases.

The present 3rd Phase of the schemes has central, eastern and north-eastern region and hill

states as its focus states

Accreditation of the courses through NBA, governance reforms, improving the processes,

digital initiatives, securing autonomy for the colleges.

Improving the quality of teaching, teacher training, equipping the class rooms, revision of

syllabus, industry interaction, compulsory internships for students, training the students in

industry relevant skills, preparing them for the GATE exam etc.

RISE

Ministry of Human Resource Development.

It is a new initiative to step up investments in centrally funded institutions like IITs, Central

Universities and others such institutes

Funding will be provided through Higher Education Financing Agency (HEFA)

HEFA has been set up on 31st May 2017 by the Central Government as a Non Profit, Non

Banking Financing Company (NBFC) for mobilising extra-budgetary resources for building

crucial infrastructure in the higher educational institutions under Central Govt.

In the existing arrangement, the entire principle portion is repaid by the institution over ten

years, and the interest portion is serviced by the Government by providing additional grants to

the institution.

So far, funding proposals worth Rs. 2,016 crore have been approved by the HEFA.

SARANSH

CBSE

Saransh is a web portal launched by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) of India,

with the primary aim of promoting information and communication technologies in schools.

It serves as an interface for enhancing communication between schools as well as parents.

It offers a data-driven decision support system to aid parents in evaluating the strengths and

weaknesses of children, which, in turn would assist in taking informed decisions for children’s

future.

SHAALA DARPAN

Shaala Darpan is an ICT programme of Ministry of Human Resource Development,

Government of India that to provide mobile access to parents of students of Government and

Government aided schools.

Using Shaala Darpan parents can view updates on their child’s progress.

They can view records of attendance, assignments and achievements of their child.

The ministry aims to launch the service by 2015 academic session.

SHAALA SIDDHI

Shaala Siddhi is a School Standards and Evaluation Framework which enables the schools to

self evaluate based on seven key domains.

It has been developed by National University of Educational Planning and Administration

(NUEPA).

Comprehensive instrument for school evaluation which enables the schools to evaluate their

performance in more focused and strategic manner to facilitate them to make professional

judgement for continuous improvement

SHALA ASMITA YOJANA (SAY)


To track the educational journey of school students from Class I to Class XII across the 15

lakhs private and government schools in the country.

ASMITA will be an online database which will carry information of student attendance and

enrolment, learning outcomes, mid-day meal service and infrastructural facilities among

others.

Students will be tracked through their Aadhaar numbers and incase those not having unique

number will be provided.

ShaGun

Ministry for Human Resource Development (MHRD)

It has two components i.e. one is a Repository of best practices, photographs, videos, studies,

newspaper articles etc on elementary education, State /UT wise.

These would be in the public domain with the purpose to provide a platform for all

stakeholders to learn from success stories of each other.

This would also instill a positive competitive spirit among all the States and UTs.

The second part is regarding the online monitoring of the SSA implemented by States and UTs

and will be accessed by Government Officers at all levels using their specific passwords.

Study Webs of Active-Learning for Young Aspiring Minds

To provide the best quality education to more than three crore students across the country.

It is the Indian electronic e-education platform which proposes to offer courses from the high

school stage to Post-Graduate stage in an interactive electronic platform.

US government is cooperating in this project.

UDAAN (GIVING WINGS TO GIRL STUDENTS)


Aims at addressing the lower enrolment of girls in engineering colleges/IITs and technological

institutions.

Udaan is a platform that empowers the girl students, facilitate their aspiration of joining the

prestigious engineering institutions and take important role in development/ progress of the

country in future.

Under this program, students are provided free offline / online resources through virtual

weekend contact classes and study material on pre-loaded tablet while studying in Class XI and

Class XII for preparation of admission test to various premier engineering colleges in the

country.
