52,00,000 students have participated in the exams conducted by Unified Council till date
Respected Sir/Madam,thIt gives me great pleasure to present the 15 National Level Science Talent Search Examination. In these 14
years we have progressed step-by-step in inculcating revolutionary learning practice through quality,
unbiased and researched assessments. We acknowledge your contribution in making the younger generation
strong in fundamentals and admire you for that.
UNIFIED COUNCIL is working towards helping schools, teachers, students and parents get an exact picture
of the level of scholastic skills of the students from class 2 to class 12 in subjects of Maths and Science. This is
being achieved through our National Level Science Talent Search Examination (NSTSE), which is based
extensive curriculum research, student achievement level analysis and definition of skill levels for children
across State, CBSE and ICSE boards.
This is the only National Level Talent Examination, which stands by its name. NSTSE is spread all over
India, facilitating the participation of all schools, even in the most remote areas. We have made this possible.
With our vast network, and the continuous support of various academicians. Any school situated in India can
take part in this exam, giving its students an opportunity to prepare themselves to take on the world when
they enter the competitive mainstream.
NSTSE, a curriculum-based examination, will prove very useful to students who wish to assess their
strengths and weaknesses in the subjects of Maths and Science. As an integral part of the academia, this
programme will have a far-reaching effect on the competitive spirit of young minds. Based on the
development of a skill blueprint, highly experienced educational specialists develop these assessment tests.
The analysis of the performance is done at individual student level, class, school and country levels.
Looking back, the academic year 2011-12 has brought us closer to schools working to push the boundaries of
student achievement.3,70,000 students participated in NSTSE-2012. The NSTSE, our offering to schools has
been appreciated for its utility as a tool for catalyzing improvement. The exam is also conducted
simultaneously in Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Yemen, Oman, Kuwait, Nepal, Libiya,
Bahrain, Iran, Russia and Tanzania.
You, and only you, can help arm your students with all the weaponry to face the competitive career-driven
world.
We request you to encourage your students to display their latent talents and motivate them to participate in
NSTSE – 2013.
Thanking you,
With warm regards
K.S.VAS
Director

About Unified Council
Fundamental Revolution
Thus, NSTSE focuses on IMPROVEMENT rather than comparison or grading. It also reduces the stress of exams by checking the UNDERSTANDING rather than the FACTS.
Unified Council is a professionally managed progressive organisation in the field of education, established in the year 1998 by eminent personalities from various fields. Since its inception, Unified Council has brought together the best brains in the field of education in an endeavour to make the younger generation stronger in fundamentals and to nourish their minds for a bright and enterprising future.
The Unified Team has experienced teachers and professionals with a strong background in school education. This experience helps the team understand and implement solutions that are based on actual needs of schools and teachers. Unified Council’s offerings are also based on a strong foundation of curriculum and educational research.
The focus on fundamentals is so important, that when the child completes his/her studies, he/she will face the competitive world with equanimity, armed as he/she is, with these fundamentals. Even while opting for higher studies the student has to go through a complete scan of what and how much he/she knows. Exams like IIT-JEE, AIEEE, AIIMS, AFMC, CAT, SAT, GRE, GMAT, etc. are so designed to test the fundamental strengths of a student. Hence, the need of the hour is to build a fundamental base as strong as possible.
This exactly is the philosophy behind our National Level Science Talent Search Examination. That’s reason why we call it the Fundamental Revolution.
NSTSE is a scientifically designed, skill-based assessment test, question papers are prepared after a detailed study of the syllabi of different central and state boards. Rather than testing rote learning, it focuses on measuring how well the SKILLS and CONCEPTS underlying the school syllabus have been learnt by the student. The test result provides information on the strengths and weaknesses of individual students and also of the entire class.
NSTSE is a diagnostic test, which actually helps students improve.
Unlike regular tests which try only to find out how much a child knows (or has memorized), NSTSE measures how well a student has understood the concepts and gives a detailed feedback on the same, to help them improve.
Thus NSTSE helps each student know whether he/she has actually understood a concept or not so that immediate action can be taken. Often students have conceptual gaps, which increase as they progress and when they reach the higher classes, they develop a "phobia" for the subject.

These exams are a launch pad for the students enabling them to prepare for future competitions and making them aware of the evolving technicalities in the examination system. Students are learning to evaluate their scientific skills and the importance of applied knowledge. Unified Council is doing a tremendous job. All the best for your future endeavors.
Mrs. Saroj Gupta, Somerville School, Greater Noida.
The question paper was designed well as per the aptitude of the children and the examination has been conducted smoothly and successfully. The standard of the question paper was very good and we hope to conduct this examination in future as it helps the students to get prepared for their regular exams and also to enrich their knowledge in science.
Ms. Nidhi Sharma, Ryan International School, Ghaziabad.
I congratulate and thank unified council for organizing the NSTSE for school students which will really help the students in attempting the competitive exams in future. The questions were thought provoking and mostly up to the level of students of each class.
Mrs. Shobhana Antony, Carmel Convent School, Bangalore.
National Level Science talent search Examination is one of the best examinations for the student for self evaluation of the subject matter. It helps the students to prepare for other competitive examination like AIEEE, AIPMT etc. It also helps us for giving co-scholastic indicators for the students in scientific skill related with CCE.
Mr. Laishram Arunjit Meetei, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Manipur.
Unified Council exhibits an excellent professional approach in conducting talent exams and stands top amidst other talent examinations. I appreciate your commitment in moulding young talents through their intellectual competency.
Mrs. Rahmabi A.P., Yara International School, Riyadh.
With great pleasure I have gone though the success series books provided by Unified Council to the participant students of NSTSE. I found they are worth preserving and the best books for testing the fast reflexes, developing mathematical skills, enhancing languages and other related skills, lateral thinking and logical influence of the students. The standard of the question papers are exceptional, moreover the procedure of conducting the examination and communication are also appreciable.
We wish Unified Council all success and glory for enlightening knowledge of the students all over India.
Mr. Gopinathan, St. Vincent’s Convent School, Balasore .
This is an excellent attempt to inculcate the scientific temper in the minds of school children. Your venture will go on a long way in creating more scientists. The questions chosen by you are so meticulate. The procedures in conducting the test are clearly defined and easy to follow. We will always patron your efforts in your noble mission.
