KMTF Proposals

The U.S. Trade and Development Agency has awarded a grant for elaborating a feasibility study for the ProjectImplementation of Early Departure Procedures (implementation of automated systems), in order to increase trafficby reducing time of paperwork and, correspondingly, the fleet turnover time.
Reduction of on-berth time by 3:00 hours for each vessel allows the port to handle monthly about 18 tankers with capacity of 12-13 thousand tons more and
to increase oil transfer through the port of Aktau by 2.4 million tons of oil annually.
In March 2009, within the framework of measures aimed at escalating the capacity of the port of Aktau with respect to oil transfer there was made the joint resolution on
performing operations related to hose connection, inspection of tanks, and loading of cargo from the moment of mooring, not waiting for arrival of the commission on the
vessel’s board. However, this year, these measures have been abolished unilaterally by the Border Police.
