Reports

KINGSCLIFFE RODEO ACTION!!

Directors Report Dry Weather conditions in many ways have been good for the NRA, with only a few rodeos being cancelled, as oppose to some previous years in which events were cancelled due to the rain. So good for the bank balance. Stock Contractors not so fortunate. When stock is normally fat and shiny, they are just holding, even without the stress of travel and extreme heat conditions to endure. We are all aware of the costs involved in feeding our stock.

A special big thanks to Laura Bostock who took care of the barrel courses at the Bull and Broncs held. And a huge thank you also to the Barrel Racers who assisted when and where possible.

I would like to thank the Rodeo Committees both new and old a special thanks to Rubber Belt Mart who has again sponsored the Barrel Racing Trophy Saddle. Thanks also to Aerofelt for the drum covers, to Katie B Western Wear who arranged the vests for the finalists, and to Terry Sharland also for his encouragement awards.

Thank you to the members who have had the confidence in me as a director, to inform me of various things happening within the association that I would have been totally unaware of otherwise.

Dave and Catherine Mawhinney, what an incredible effort. Putting together a rodeo in just three weeks, so as to give members a finals with three rounds. Congratulations also to CMC and Sub-Contractors getting done what you achieved under the heat wave conditions. Gatton special thanks to Ian Bostock for all his efforts working on the surface to ensure safe loading for stock, with extra sand in place for the barrel race pattern.

Caboolture Wow!! What a blast to finish the season. To think, as info filtered to my phone in the week leading to round three, I was starting to doubt there would even be a round three. Politics was running HOT!! We have Doc Cavanagh and Dale Frahm to thank for all the extra time spent with the Caboolture Show Society. We got to witness a good rodeo, with good performances by competitors. Congratulations to all award winners and also to all who were apart of making the finals successful.

Thanks to office ladies, there is no end to the mountain of work load you have to try to keep ahead of. Just when you think you’re on top of it, there’s always more; never ending.

Alan McHugh, not only is he a dedicated, hardworking Junior Director, but also has been a very supportive fellow. Thanks heaps Al.

2015 all the best to everyone and good luck in whatever directions your goals and dreams may lead you. Safe Traveling.

Kind Regards,

Kim Clarke 2015 Barrel Racing Director

Queen Report

As my first Rodeo Queen Report I would like to formally introduce myself. My name is Christine Gall and I live in Blenheim Queensland, with my husband Luke and our two boys. I have been a member of the National Rodeo Association for 25 years and compete in the Breakaway Roping and Team Roping. Alstonville All Round Rodeo will host our first Queen and Princess competition for 2015. I hope to see some new faces joining the competitions this season. There are some great prizes on offer and the change to expand your knowledge of our sport and showcase your horsemanship skills. Prior to our first competition our Queen and Princess Handbook will be updated. There have been some important changes made by the Board of Directors so please ensure you read this and are aware of these changes. This document will be made available on the NRA Queen and Princess Page and I will also have some hard copies with me. I have made several goals which I would like to achieve during my year, and fundraising for the NRA is my top priority. Along with running raffles at rodeos, I have organised our first Time Event Development Clinic. This day is primarily for Junior and Open novice competitors. We have some of the NRA’s past and present time event champions to lead our days, and teach the students how to set the foundations to become champions in their own right. I hope we receive great support for this event, to allow us to continue these days and raise more money for our association. For further information, please contact me. I would like to thank Spike and Judy Johnstone for sponsoring the beautiful Rodeo Queen buckle that I received. Many Thanks, Christine Gall 2015 NRA Rodeo Queen
