(CP l )

Consumer Price Index (CPl) is an indicator of the change in the average prices of a f ixed basket of goods and services commonly purchased by households relative to a base year. Prices are compared to a base year and weighted by the appropriate consumptior pattern. Th is index indicates the monthly changes in prices of commodi t ies and services commonly bought and consumed by an average Filipino household in the country. As an indicator, the CPl is most widely used in the calculation of the inflation rale and purchasing power of the peso (PPP). Inflation rate measures t i ie changes in the CPl , whi le PPP gives a n indication of how much the Phil ippine peso is worth in a given per iod relative to its value in a base period.
