A woman is going through the RCIA process. She
does not have a Catholic rela-ve to par-cipate with

discussing the material that is presented by the catechists. Could
you be that person? Sessions are held on Sunday mornings twice
per month, 8:30 10:30am. If you can walk with her and help her
learn to live as a Catholic: Karen 4810777 [email protected].

FROM THE ARCHDIOCESE OF MILWAUKEEResearch Corner There are studies from the Spring, 2018, The CARA Report, which provided some insight about women in the Church.
Women’s Commitment to Church May be Increasing from “Catholic Women’s Refreshed Enthusiasm,” by Michele Dillon, Na-onal
Catholic Reporter, January 12 25, 2018.
Over the past 25 years, women’s commitment to the church has been characterized by a steady decline.
Today, women are just slightly more likely than men to aDend Mass at least weekly.
2017 saw an increase in the number of women who say that the Church is among the most important things in their life.
The percentage of women and men who say they would never leave the Church has been increasing.
80% of Catholic women and men express sa-sfac-on with Pope Francis’ leadership.
Catholic women are not increasing their prac-ce of Catholicism, such as weekly Mass aDendance, but are expressing an increased
aDachment to the Church.

or one of the 360 who don’t? Are we ending up in your spam
folder? Please take a few minutes and read it to be up on
the happenings in our parishes in greater detail than what

Here are some annual sta>s>cs I can share with you about OUR
Vincen>ans:
They have helped about 50 households in the Cudahy area
providing emergency food, household goods & furniture.
They make more than 100 visits to Assisted Living facili-es in
Cudahy, South Milwaukee and Oak Creek to share
conversa-on, prayers and the Eucharist.
11 -mes per year Vincen-ans and others (510 people) go to
the South Side meal site to serve a meal aVer delivering the
sloppy joe that a handful of people make and deliver to NL.
(1015 ice cream pails monthly are dropped off.) This
translates to a total value of about $4,800.00 in sloppy joe/
bbq. Plus 250 hours of service by those who serve the meal.
Through the collec-ons taken in church on the 5th Sunday of
any month, 680 gallons of milk have been donated. So far in
2018 $1,754.59 has been collected. (We have 1 more
collec-on this year on December 29 & 30.)
In total this adds up to more than 600 hours of service and
3,000 miles in service to the people of our community.
But this isn’t enough. Our Vincen-ans and sloppy joe donors and
volunteers are in need of the next 1/2 genera-on and others
interested to step forward to increase giving and involvement as
those in need and prices increase.
Can you cook a batch of bbq or a bake a dessert? Can you spend
a couple of hours in service to others at the Meal Program or
helping with emergency provisions? Can you do spiritual
ministry? Can you donate to buy a gallon ($2.59) or more of
milk?
As stated at hDps://cruxnow.com/va-can/2017/10/16/stvincent
depaulinspiredpeopleprayreachpopesays/ :
“St. Vincent de Paul’s “passion for charity” has endured for four
centuries because it is grounded in prayer and flows from
adoraon, Francis told the crowd. Being aware that God awaits
and welcomes each person, transforms hearts into those that
welcome others and prompts them to set out in search of anyone
in need.” Thank you to all our Vincenans and those whose hearts, hands
and resources are open to helping fulfill their mission.
