THEME OF NATIONAL SEMINAR 2017
In the early 1950s, it used to take about two decades for a complete overhaul of the Fortune 500 list. It takes less than 5 years now. This manic, era-changing juggernaut has been fueled by technology-driven transformations, impacting the very core fabric of society itself. Businesses are compelled to introspect and adapt or risk being left behind. Recent history has been a witness to the fact that corporate giants such as Nokia, Kodak, Xerox, Palm, Atari and many more have fallen in the face of this change.
The dawn of this new era has questioned the traditional approach to leadership, with Intelligence Quotient a parameter being replaced by Emotional Quotient and Digital Quotient; with Goliath's of the industry being drawn into a battle with start-ups. The standard equations of the corporate world are on the brink of being re-written in this era.
Digital technologies like mobility, artificial intelligence, big data analytics, internet of things, social networks, cloud and robotics are making deep inroads in our daily lives and pose both as opportunities and challenges. A leader in this scenario needs to maintain fine balance needs to be maintained between the technological, economic and social impact of these technologies. The digital revolution demands a new definition of leadership. Are we ready with it?
