A little corner in which a hobby is transformed into a profession. This is how the laboratory, where the first soaps were produced, was founded.It was the early sixties.The company started in Liguria, the land of olive groves and ports; theseelements were the inspiration to produce the first Handcrafted Soaps made with Oil, Coconut and Palm Oils.The company had a turning point in 1998 with a new corporate structure and the creation of a new public image: I Provenzali.Underlying the philosophy of the brand is still the idea of:

This is how I Provenzali became a popular product on the natural market.The development that the company has since pursued is based on the princi-ples stated in our Code of Ethics, which is sustainability-oriented and applied to all corporate stakeholders:The People, the Market, the Environment and the Territory.The Company’s policy is based on ensuring quality in every aspect, which is done by observing a strict control of the supply chain from raw material to final product and by selecting materials that are 100% Plant and Vegetable origin, biodegradable and that are organic certified.The supply chain respects the criteria of quality and proximity, guaranteeing a product that is completely Made in Italy, where know-how takes on the real meaning: quality in manufacturing and production.The catalogue is enriched with more than 100 formulas for beauty and cle-ansing, including products for lips, facial care, cleaning products and home fragrances.The modern production site is located in Genova, one of the main European ports for trade traffic.Here, the new products under the I Provenzali brand are created with the use of production lines that are completely powered by renewable energy thanks to a new photovoltaic system. The heart of the Company is the production of soap bars that uses timeless methods:• from mixing ingredients with oil, extracts and perfume;• to aging in antique wooden barrels.

Methods of SaponificationAs all things in common use, the soap remains a constant element of the day, on which almost never ask ourselves questions like: how is it produced? What is the origin?The manufacturing process and production with which we make all of our soaps has ancient origins and craft , that our Company is committed to main-tain the same, including and especially in the selection of raw materials : vegetable and biodegradable.The actual toilet soaps, the most pure, are obtained according to the process commonly known as Marseilles. The process consists in Marseille method “of Cotta “, which involves boiling in large boilers of a mixture of fatty substances (mostly oils ) to which is added , in small doses , a caustic soda solution that allows the saponification of fat.After about four hours, the mass thus obtained becomes soft and ready for the addition of sodium chloride (salt) which has the task of separating the material “ Soap “ from excess soda and from all the impurities that are depo-sited on the bottom the boiler.

Mixing of Ingredients. In addition to a rolling process, adapted to facilitate the processing, the crude soap in the form of chip is enriched of valuable substances such as oils, essences, extracts and perfumes by means of a mixing machine, useful to mix all the ingredients that characterize the pro-duct finished.

The Drawing. Using a special machine, the mix of ingredients is further refined and compressed, making it compact and pliable so that you can endure, still warm, cut into individual loaves of manual measurement and weight you want.

The Stamping. The blocks thus obtained are “stamped” by a printing machine that imparts the desired image through bronze molds, the work of artisans engravers.

The Aging. The aging takes place spontaneously, leaving the product in its shape now defined on wooden stretchers for a period ranging from 24 to 72 hours.

So we can have the best product: pure, neutral, without free alkali, with little amount of water, very different from the common industrial production.

LIQUID SOAPS

Equally fascinating and traditional is the production of liquid soaps.It’s necessary to point out that not everything that is called “liquid soap “ can really be called such. The only method for obtaining liquid soap from fats and vegetable oils is that of the “Cotta”, as for the solid soap, with the only difference in the use of potash alternative to soda which element useful in the transformation of oils into soap (saponification) .It’s very different from other products that generally available on the market, because the common liquid detergents are obtained with bases that have ne-cessarily had to undergo the processes of synthesis, less natural and mostly devoid of the characteristic of the real soap: the complete biodegradability.

Our company offers a full range of vegetable oils and butters dedicated to the care and beauty of the body.Unique in its kind, can be defined as the real alternative 100% natural creams and emulsions synthesis and laboratory .

The cold pressing, without solvents or chemicals , ensures the absolute purity and retains the presence of the active ingredients and functional for your skin.

Our Oils and Butters :• They are completely free of water• Derive from raw materials of high quality• They are all pure : uncut or sophisticated• Their formula is enriched with Vitamin E for optimal preservation of product quality assurance.

We apply the same selection criteria also in the production of vegetable but-ters , natural cosmetics super- concentrated and nutrient -rich properties . Completely free of chemical preservatives, exploits the natural antioxidant qualities of “tocopherol”, a blend of vitamins extraction of botanical anti-aging action. Strengths: it is a truly unique product with cross uses. It is an effective wrinkles, moisturizes and soothes dry skin and prevents stretch marks. It is a protective to shock action, acts of redness and cracking while preserving the skin and lips from cold air and smog. It is a great after-sun and an ideal after shaving. On the children’s skin prevents diaper rash and soothes as the specific creams.
