NATURAL SELECTION READY TO WEARSPRING / SUMMER 2014
For Spring/Summer 2014 British label Natural Selection Denim presents its first foray into Ready to Wear with a cohesive collection reflecting the brand’s minimal, understated aesthetic.
A mix of unique pieces and quality wardrobe staples, the collection takes inspiration from the history of the Dutch East India Company (VOC for short). Military cuts and naval silhouettes emulate the heritage of the VOC, with the company’s flag inspiring the teal and orange colour palette running throughout.
Technical fabrications and developments in construction make the collection both functional and innovative. This can be seen in the Reverse Trench, on one side fabricated in linen and the other a formal bonded cotton allowing for both a weather protective form and a more dressed up look. The Kimono Parka is made from 4 ounce waxed cotton, which offers its wearer ease of movement as well as a light, protective layer.
This collection marks a key change in direction for Natural Selection Denim. Whilst remaining true to its denim roots there will be development into a contemporary fashion brand making use of ethical fabrics and techniques, from recycled materials to sustainable washes.
