HOw TO pREss LEAvEs ANd FLOwERs

Pressing leaves and flowers that you find in nature is a fun way to compare and contrast different plants. Search for cool items whenever you go on a nature hike to build up your own personal nature collection!

1. Collect your specimens in plastic bags in case they are wet or muddy. You can search for flowers and leaves or even bird feathers!

2. When you get home, carefully place your findings between two sheets of parchment paper, wax paper, or tissue paper.

3. Place the paper and specimen within the pages of a very heavy book (you can even put more books on top) and let them sit for a few days.

4. A few days later, take out your pressed findings and carefully glue them (a glue stick works best) into the following pages of this journal for safekeeping.
