Nature Mandalas! Getting creative with Mother Nature
Ms. Mac’s Artists
Step 1: Gather your Materials
- Take yourself on a Nature Walk!- Step outside, and hunt for “materials” you might want to
include in your Mandala design. These can be anything from: leaves, sticks, flowers, sea shells, rocks, etc.
- Try your best to collect at least THREE different materials from nature.
- Mother nature has a lot to offer!

Step 2: Organize your Materials
- Now that you have completed your Nature Walk, take some time to separate your materials into groups.
- Place similar materials in each group!- This process will help you begin to plan your Mandala!

Step 3: Creating Your Mandala!
- You are now ready to begin creating!- Using your found objects, begin in the center, and add
objects using radial symmetry!
- Radial Symmetry: A type of design that is symmetrical on a CENTER axis point. Like a flower, or starfish!

Be Creative and Have Fun!
- Feel free to practice your creativity by creating one, two, three or even more Mandalas!
