Baghdad

– a mathematics theme at NAVET•A permanent theme at NAVET since 2000

•A visit includes a pre-visit assignment, the theme at NAVET with a short drama and pedagogical work in the exhibit, and an after-visit material

•School classes from age 5 to 16

•An important part in the teacher education and the in-service teacher training

•So far, around 34 000 pupils have visited Baghdad and participated in the mathematics theme at NAVET

•A number of pupils and teachers outside of the Sjuhärad district have also visited NAVET and Baghdad during these years

After a visit in Baghdad

– NAVETs boxesAfter a school visit to any theme at NAVET, the class gets to borrow a box filled with experiments and material.

Around 1 500 classes have borrowed the mathematics box since the theme started in 2000.

In-service training for teachers •Different

inspiring mathematics days planned together with the teachers according to their wishes

•From pre school teachers to upper secondary teachers

•Since 2005 around 1 400 teachers have participated in special mathematics project which includes 5 in-service training days with a content that suits their wishes and needs.

•As an example, we have met 1500 teachers this semester, including the teachers in the special mathematics project

Baghdad and Infinity

- a successful travelling exhibition

The two travelling exhibitions Baghdad and Infinity have been on tour in Sweden and Norway since 2003.

Around 45 000 pupils have visited them with their school classes during these years.
