The Navy Lakehurst Historical Society would like to offer our members and the general public, the opportunity to memorialize a loved ones service to our county with a permanent brass nameplate. These plates will be mounted on the wall of the museum, midway between the floor and the ceiling. Each nameplate will be seen by visitors who come to the museum each year. It is a wonderful, yet inexpensive way, to insure your family member will be remembered in a setting befitting their service to our state and to the nation.
The donation cost of each brass plate is only $50.00. Even this minimal cost is offset by the fact the museum is a 501-C(3) non-profit, enabling you to deduct the full cost when you file your income taxes.
Your donation serves two purposes. First and most important, it serves to memorialize a family member who served this country in peacetime or in war. It also allows the museum to continue to grow and expand, insuring tomorrow's youth learn what the price of freedom is and WHO paid it.
Below are some samples of what can be put on the memorial plate:

Black F-14 MoveOn Friday, January 22nd, 2021 the long awaited move of the black F-14 to Hangar 1, which was located on the grounds outside of Building 372, was accomplished.
The move was accomplished by the NLHS aircraft restoration team-Rodger Jordan, Joe Ciaburri, Jim Tornetta, Sherman Barton and Peter Larkin along with the outstanding base Riggers staff -Jordan Larkin, Travis Pippin, Bruce Persons, John Kenney, Matthew Morris and Charles Smedile.
Responsibility for the Ready Room is Ron Montgomery-Vice President.
The move required the temporary removal of a light pole, adding air to the tires, and the removal of the chain tie-downs.
After hooking up the toe bar to the front wheels, the plane was pulled on the mostly frozen turf, angled thru some trees and then onto the roadway to Hangar 1 for restoration.
While most of the restoration will not start until the spring and the weather is warmer-Hangar 1 does not have any heat.
For now, some prep work can be done, given how cold it is inside Hangar 1.
The NLHS aircraft restoration staffhas restored: F-4D (completed 4/12); F-14A (completed 10/15); Blue Angel-F11 Tiger (completed 6/16); A-7B Corsair II (completed 11/17); A4 (completed 11/18); UH1H Huey Helicopter (completed 11/19) Aircraft currently in restoration inside Hangar 1: F8U1 F-14
