Eligibility
At least three years experience as a pre- K-12 classroom teacher or school counselor in a public or private school
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
A valid teaching license or a license to practice as a school counselor

Assessment Center There will be 6 questions and you will have 30 min
to write each of your answers. 1. Data Analysis. 2. Interrelationships. 3. Unifying Concepts. 4.Change over time. 5.Student misconceptions, 6. Science, Technology, and Society.

How is your score determined?
• The portfolio is 60 % of your score.• Entry 1, 2,and 3 are 16% each and entry 4 is 12
%. (3 x 16%) + 12% =60%• The scores from the assessment center make
40% of your total score.• Each question is weighted 6.67%• (6X 6.67%=40%)

Rubric Levels and Score Range Rubric Level 4 corresponds to scores
3.75- 4.25 - Clear, consistent and convincing evidences
Rubric Level 3 corresponds to scores
2.75- 3.74 – Clear evidences Rubric Level 2 corresponds to scores
1.75- 2.74 – Limited evidences Rubric Level 1- corresponds to scores
0.75- 1.74 – Little or no evidences.

What is a passing score?
Passing score is 275 points. A candidate with total weighted scale
score of 275 and higher is awarded National Board Certification.
If you have less than 275 you will have two years to redo some of the entries and achieve the certification.
