The Lyon Park Rose Garden Club met at the home of Mrs. Victoria Joyner, 2411 Normandy St. recently. Mrs. A. L. Thompson opened the meeting, after,vhich the club song was sung and a por tion of the sth chapter of St. Matthew was read. Prayer was offered by Mrs. Thompson. In the absence of the president, Mrs. Helen McClain, Mrs. M. W. Webb presided over the business meeting. Minutes of the last meet- ing were read, followed by vari- ous committee reports. After the business session Mrs. Joyner served a lucious dinner. The table, with a centerpiece of pink roses, and white candles in silver candle hollers revealed the Jones, AncST Brown and Pearline Yafßorough entertained at a mis- cellaneous shower at the home of the aunt, honoring Miss Har- graves. After the wedding rehearsal on Saturday evening, the members of the brjdal party and all red- ding participants, and out of town guests were entertained at a party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Fitzgerald by Mesdames William Fitzgerald and Lathrop W. Alston. Members present were Mes- dames Pearl Brown, Elizabeth Bullock, Mattie Canty, Fannie Cozart, A. B. Greene, Mary Hardy, Josephine Hoskins, Elnora Smith, Fannie Tapp, Bessie Thompson, Mae Willie Webb, Willie Sneed, Alice Jones, Misses Mable Free- land and Alene Mebane. Mrs. Willie Malone, Mrs. Bea- trice Manley, Mrs. Evelyn Thorpe and Gail Joyner were guests. Miss Mable Freeland thanked the hostess and Mrs. Bessie Thom- pson closed the garden gate. BISHOP W. A. Her dress was designed and made by her maternal aunt, Mrs. Wilsie Price of Washington, D. C. Her veil of imported silk illusion was elbow length attach- ed to a teardrop and seed pearl miniature crown and she carried a white Bible topped with white roses and carnations with ribbon streamers.
