Get Started with wolfPAWWolfPAW, NC State’s Personal Admissions Website, allows you to create a profile and apply online. You can sign up for email reminders about important dates, deadlines, and events.

NC State celebrates the unique insights international applicants bring to its campus community. In our residence halls and classrooms, international students from 120 countries merge with U.S. students representing diverse backgrounds.

Applying as a Transfer Student?Transfer students are required to provide a course-by-course evaluation of non-U.S., university-level coursework.

Optional InterviewChinese Applicants: NC State recommends that you participate in a third-party interview. This interview gives you the opportunity to discuss, in person, your academic and personal background. Additional information is available on our International Admissions website.

SAT/ACT OptionalSAT and ACT exams are optional for international applicants. However, if you believe the test scores provide further evidence of your academic ability, you are encouraged to submit them. Official SAT and ACT Plus Writing scores must be sent directly from the testing organization. (SAT code 5496; ACT code 3164)

Programs of Excellence

Intensive English ProgramThe Intensive English Program (IEP) is a full-time, non-credit academic program offered in the fall, spring and summer semesters. Students acquire English proficiency in key skills, such as listening, speaking, reading, academic writing and grammar, before moving into a degree program.

The IEP is for Undergraduate Admissions applicants who meet competitive academic requirements for admission but have not yet met minimum English proficiency requirements.

Summer START assists new students with the transition from high school to college through five weeks of academic courses and social activities. Classes teach academic study skills and introduce participants to on-campus and city-wide resources that facilitate college success. Students enroll in academic courses toward their specific major as well as a one-credit orientation course.

Graduate SchoolMany of our undergraduates choose to stay on campus to pursue a graduate degree at NC State. These students, along with students transferring from colleges and universities around the world, contribute to the University’s groundbreaking collaborative research. Hunt LibraryFuturistic technology and cutting-edge design unite at NC State University’s new James B. Hunt, Jr. Library, one of the world’s most inventive and advanced research facilities. Communal learning spaces dot the library’s floor, and a robot-driven Bookbot can retrieve one of the more than two million volumes stored in the library’s reserve. The library is the newest addition to NC State's Centennial Campus. Home to both the College of Engineering and the College of Textiles, Centennial Campus is the center of innovation at NC State.

Alexander HallHome to the Global Village, Alexander Hall provides a haven for its residents to interact with students from around the world. In the heart of Main Campus, Alexander Hall is less than a two-minute walk from Carmichael Gym, the campus bookstore, convenience stores and student centers.

Talley Student UnionOriginally constructed in 1972, NC State's Talley Student Union emerges this year from an extreme makeover that yields an open, welcoming floor plan with light-filled quiet nooks and functional recreational spaces. One Earth World Cuisine offers a variety of dishes from around the world along with four-quick service restaurants, a convenience store, gourmet bakery and ice cream shop. The outdoor Stafford Commons is sure to be a favorite spot with great green space, outdoor and covered seating and a terrace overlooking the lawn creating a hub of activity on central campus.

SAS HallOne of north campus’s newest buildings, SAS Hall boasts state-of-the-art classrooms, computer labs, tutorial centers, and space for NC State’s mathematics and statistics department students to meet and study.
