Some Goings OnHe played a cowboy, and an indian, and an

alien. He was a poet, a photographer, and an

actor. A year ago he announced he had lung

disease and that he had quit smoking 30 years

before. His tweet at that time stated, “I quit

smoking 30 years ago. Not soon enough. I

have COPD. Grandpa says, quit now!! LLAP”

His last tweet was just days before his death,

“A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can

be had, but not preserved, except in memory.

LLAP”

Both Janet Shepherd and Robbie Lawrence had falls

this month, Janet has a MASSIVE black and blue left leg and was x-rayed but nothing broken. Robbie was

on a UTA bus when the driver hit the gas which threw him back, then

forward again. He probably needed an x-ray but he

toughed it out and got home. Positive thoughts there way!

The Ensign stood before the Tellarite and demanded answers. What did he know, when did he know it, and why, why wasn’t STARFLEET informed!.

The fire fight was over and Ensign Sir had managed to get the Tellarite Trade Ambassadors back into the relative safety of the mining station. Relative as the Tellarites had just fought off an attack while Sir had saved the Ambassadors.

“Explain!” Sir demanded.

The two stood in the battle scared transporter room; t Traver finally spat at the burnt wall and faced Sir.

“We’ve been harassed by the Romulans and Klingons, or maybe it’s just the Klingon’s using Romulan technology again. They attack, pull back, attack again. This is the first loss of life we’ve had. We saw no reason to call attention to this as up until now we’e managed to keep them at bay and even drive them off the planetoid. They’ve grown bolder to attack now, with you here!” The Tellarite grunted the ending.

“Did you think because a Starfleet officer was here they wouldn’t attack, or were you hoping they would? Both our worlds are members of the Federation which makes an attack on one an attack on the other. You should have brought this to our attention!” And Sir ended with a like kind of ‘grunt’.

“Well now you know!”

Sir stood still for only a second more then began pacing the blood stained floor. He needed to contact the Aarushi at once, both to bet back up and warn them of a potential attack.

“Open communications with the Aarushi!”

“If we could we would have, our communications have been all but destroyed. It will take hours to put this mess back in working order.” And he ended by looking at the mess that had been his communications panel and snorted.

Hours, Sir thought, hours. The base has supplies, weapons, they might be able to hold out. The shuttle, he thought, had it sustained damage? They might not let us off the planetoid, but the communications might still be okay. He couldn’t remember if the shuttle had any damage.

“Transporters,” Sir said, “can you transport me to the shuttle? I could see if the Aarushi is out of range of the shuttles communications. Or there might be another Federation ship near by.”

“I will see.” And the Tellarite started to work at the controls of the transporter. Soon a panel was ripped off by his massive strength and he had put his massive body weight on the floor, then crawled into position to work.

Sir had never seen a Tellarite up close and personal, and was fascinated by how adept they had made their tools to be used by hooves.

“There!” he grunted again. “The enemy will never know what hit them. Get to your shuttle, send an emergency burst and then try to lift off. You have shields on board enough to protect you. Go tell the Federation what you have seen this day!” He snorted and grunted laughter.

“I should try to get the trade Ambassadors to safety too.”, Sir said while returning to the transporter pad.

“We’ll transport you first, you get the shuttle ready and by the time you are ready for lift off I’ll have them aboard you shuttle.” He reached for his communicator, which was the only method of communications left working on the base, and called for the Ambassadors to return at once to the transporter room.

“For a human, and don’t you dare repeat this, you are reasonably alright.”, and Traver snorted and grunted and snorted again, his hands across his ample midsection. Even if you didn’t have a universal translator you would know he was laughing.

We are assembled here today to pay final respects to our honored dead. And yet it should be noted that in the midst of our sorrow, this death takes place in the shadow of new life, the sunrise of a new world; a world that our beloved comrade gave his life to protect and nourish. He did not feel this sacrifice a vain or empty one, and we will not debate his profound wisdom at these proceedings. Of my friend, I can only say this: of all the souls I have encountered in my travels, his was the most... human. (Kirk)
