Location and TransportFind us on the A642, halfway between Wakefield andHuddersfield, easily accessed from the M1 and M62.Car: follow brown signs from Huddersfield or M1; sat nav -enter WF4 4RH; ample free parking for cars and coaches.Rail: Wakefield Westgate mainline station is 6 miles away.Bus: from Wakefield/Huddersfield bus stations the StagecoachYorkshire bus No 232 stops at The Reindeer pub, a short walkdownhill to the Museum. The No 128 Wakefield to Dewsburystops right outside.

Families are invited to get ‘hands-on’ as they discover evenmore about the lives of coal miners through the ages onour new interactive tour.
• Get your hands dirty and experience life at the coal-faceas it would have been for families in the early 1800s.
• Find out more about how horses were once keptunderground as you feed, muck-out and learn how to puttheir bridles on.
• Experience genuine sights, soundsand smells of a working coal-mine.
