Together, we deliver.
• N-NC has historic ITV concern – line haul, organic, and convoy• JSJ4, N-NC, and TCJ4-T met to discuss ITV gaps in the memo
– TCJ4-LT charged with helping address visibility gaps• TCJ4-LT began several ITV initiatives to address gaps in 2012
– Use CMOS as the primary unit move AIS when supporting NORTHCOM• Commercial line haul info is captured and passed to IGC
– Establish NORTHCOM unique DoDAACs to identify deployed locations– Use AIS and AIT to ship, receive, and track cargo and pax– Pursue expanded use of less costly carrier EDI for location updates– Add more direction to GCC ITV Plan
• Identify systems and describe use to achieve ITV• Describe the use of IGC and other ITV systems

Together, we deliver.
• TCJ4-LT identified an opportunity to conduct a PoP utilizing the movement of TURBO CHALLENGE 14 cargo moving from VA to AK
– Excellent example of a move via multiple modes• Line haul – Virginia to Tacoma• Sealift – Tacoma to Anchorage
– Allowed N/NC to observe a process that allows for tracking of line haul cargo from origin to destination – periodic location updates at N/NC identified intervals
• CMOS push of data to IGC to provide ITV of the movements• Active RFID events pushed to IGC from the RF-ITV Server• Carriers provided EDI to IGC to update current position/location – 8 hour
intervals• Observed first use of CMOS by Army to ship unit move cargo
– “Swivel-chair” approach – TC-AIMS II export to CMOS via CD

Proof of Principle Take-Away
• NORTHCOM witnessed how existing capabilities can provide much needed ITV (especially commercial line haul) – fills visibility gap
– CMOS passes critical ITV information to IGC– EDI sent to IGC every 8 hours with current position update– Active RFID pings captured at origin and destination– IGC consolidates inputs – AISs, RFID, carrier EDI, transportation systems
• NORTHCOM viewed real world data on PoP cargo in IGC– “Bread crumb” trail from VA to AK – multiple modes captured and visible – NORTHCOM and ARNORTH IGC training increased AO capabilities and
highlighted the effectiveness of existing systems
• EDI is a key component on visibility of commercial line haul• NORTHCOM J4 – “we are making steady and significant progress to
improve ITV of ground movement deployments”

Together, we deliver.
• N-NC Commander hosted USTC Commander and Directors – Jun 15• N-NC ITV initiatives were briefed on progress made on ITV initiatives
– Incorporated existing capabilities into exercises/operations• Leveraged use of Cargo Movement Operations System (CMOS) as primary
transportation system; transactions visible in IGC• Established unique ship-to addresses• Ensured use of active RFID to track cargo• Used available commercial carrier visibility transactions• Manifested inbound/outbound cargo/passengers – all modes• Developed “mobile” database for CMOS• Automated data transfer with Transportation Coordinators Automatic Information
for Movement System II (TCAIMS II) to CMOS• Demonstrated passenger spreadsheet import capability for CMOS pax manifesting• Air Force traffic management specialists operated CMOS
