Action ID: 1.1 Previous Years Goals
Umonhon Nation Public School adopted the AdvancED model to address school improvement and accreditation. The AdvancED standards are represented by the following committees: Vision and Purpose – The institution or educational system establishes and communicates a shared purpose and direction for improving the performance of students and the effectiveness of the school/system.
Governance and Leadership – The institution or educational system provides governance and leadership that promote student performance and school/system effectiveness.
Teaching and Learning – The institution or educational system provides research-based curriculum and instructional methods that facilitate achievement for all students.
Documenting and Using Results – The institution or educational system enacts a comprehensive assessment system that monitors and documents performance and uses these results to improve student performance and school effectiveness. The district continues to use NWEA MAP for assessing a majority of students.
Resources and Support Systems – The goal to implement and maintain a 1:1 in-school environment grades 6-12 continues to progress through several stages. Chromebooks for classroom use and study halls were added during the summer for grades 9-12, and the district seeks to continue to foster the adoption of various application-level learning systems like G Suite(formerly Google Apps for Education) and Canvas through both purchasing/re-allocation of Chromebooks to achieve an equal student per device ratio and encouraging student familiarity and usage with the systems at grades as early as 4th.
Stakeholder Communications and Relationships – The institution or educational system fosters effective communications and relationships with and among its stakeholders. This is accomplished in several ways including giving parents access to the GoEdustar student information system. Parents can monitor students' grades, attendance and behaviors.

Action ID: 1.2 Student Standards
Umonhon Nation Public School District continues to expand the number of students and grade levels using online and collaborative learning environments through G Suite accounts, Chromebooks, and other systems.
While the district intends to support the forward momentum, the main goal for 2018-2019 in regard to student learning and productivity is to evaluate and implement ways to help students meet the standards outlined in ISTE’s Standards for Students, with emphasis on the field of Digital Citizenship.
To meet this goal, the district is investigating possible methods of PD to reinforce and refine the ways these standards can be met in classrooms, specifically the role of Digital Citizenship, in order to create a strong foundation for the increasing expansion of online collaborative learning environments into elementary grades.
