Newsletter is an amalgamation of all the events held in the Department and it plays an instrumental

role in providing a greater exposure of the achievements accomplished by the students and the

faculty.

Principal's Message:

As students are the members of a progressive society, the teachers shall

not fight today’s battle with yesterday's weapon, but they must prepare them to

face all the eventualities of life. Thus teachers are the architects of a country.

Consequently the true education should deepen our insight, widen our horizon

and create a meaningful outlook. Equally the students are fortunate enough to

have born in a free nation, with all the facilities to shape their career in such a way, that they should be

part of a good and healthy society with progressive attitude towards divinity.

From the Editor's Desk

Dear students,

Hearty welcome to the CSE Department’s first issue of News Letter for the

academic year 2019-2020.

The objectives of the news letter is to, mainly focus on the

Achievements of the Students and Faculty members from the CSE dept in Curricular, Co-

curricular and Extra-curricular Activities.

Placement of students in Campus drive.

Recent trends in the area of Computer Science & Engineering and related areas.

I congratulate all faculty Members for their constant efforts in launching this News Letter.

We are extremely grateful to our Management and Principal for their Support and Encouragement.

About Our Department

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering was started in the year 2008 with an

intake of 60 students. The Department upgraded to Post Graduate (ME.CSE) programme in the year

2012. Our department is very keen in academic exposure of the students to the latest domain trends by

conducting Seminars, Conferences, Guest Lectures, Faculty Development Programmes, Industrial

Tours and Visits, etc. The Department arranges periodic guest lectures and field visits to strengthen the

teaching of the subjects and to expose the students to the actual work situations. The faculty members

participate in the training courses to update their knowledge and teaching techniques. The faculties are

active members of professional bodies like CSI, IEEE, IET, ISTE etc., and update their knowledge

through workshops, seminars and symposia organized under the aegis of professional bodies. This has

strengthened both the teaching and research activities of the Department.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering started its Postgraduate Program in

Computer Science and Engineering in the year 2012 with an intake of 18 students. The program is

designed to enhance the skills in depth and breadth from their undergraduate studies. It mainly focuses

on strong foundational concepts and also advanced techniques and tools in order to build solutions or

systems of varying complexity. The course helps to design software engineering principles and

practices for developing quality software for scientific and business applications. The students are

guided with emerging information and communication technologies (ICT) to innovate ideas and

solutions to existing/novel problems.

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering has been recognized as Centre for

Research by Anna University, Chennai in the year 2017. The Mission of the department is to impart

fundamental studies in mathematics, science, general engineering and modernized computer education;

To provide knowledge with effective teaching methodologies focusing on nation building; To groom

students to become specialized computer hardware and software engineers; To achieve global standards

in education and value based living through a social and scientific approach; To offer professional

services to meet out the requirements of industry, business and society. The CSE Department

efficiently grooms students to chase management, technical and leadership skills in a various

industries. Students of CSE have achieved many placements at leading companies like ZOHO,

CSS corp, Cygnus Software, Infosys, Igenius artificial intelligence, Wipro, Cognizant, Genpact,

TCS, PayTM, Amazon, Just Dial etc.

Value added course was conducted for all CSE Students in “ANDROID APPLICATION

DEVELOPMENT” for 10 days with hands on training.

Programme attended by staff:

Engineering Leaders for the 21st Century” on November 29th 2019.

Mrs. A. Geetha participated in virtual event webinar titled “The Secrets to Success When Starting

Your Own Business” on August 28th 2019.

All faculty members participated in spoken tutorial training programme in DRUPAL &

Computer Applications – MOODLE learning management system.

Few Faculty members participated in “LibreOffice Suite Writer” training organized by SPOKEN

TUTORIAL on July 2019.

by Nehru Institute of Engineering & Technology, India in association with Universiti Sains

Malaysia held in Penang, Malaysia from 30th July to August 2019.

Entrepreneurship Development Programme” from July 16th to 18th 2019 at Anna University

Regional Campus, Coimbatore.
