Christmas Shopping Tips The build up to Christmas is a busy time of year for everyone, including the criminal. Here are some handy tips to keep you safe: • When out shopping, try not to
return to your car to leave purchases in the boot before continuing with your shopping and definitely don’t leave them on seats in full view. Thieves may well watch car parks for just such a chance
• Always park in a well-lit area or attended car park
• Having bought wonderful presents, don't make it easy for someone to steal them. Keep presents out of sight until last thing on Christmas Eve
• If you 'hide' or store larger items such as bicycles in a shed or outbuilding ensure they are very secure
• Remember, empty boxes left outside advertise what new goods are inside - dispose of packing carefully.
• When shops are crowded, the pickpocket has more chance to steal from you. If you can't arrange to shop during less busy times, make sure you stay extra vigilant
Don’t let the criminal enjoy Christmas at your expense.
PLEASE NOTE It’s very important to report crimes as otherwise rural communities may not be given the required level of resourcing they deserve.

Sing for fun
If you love to sing Orston Rocks Village Choir is for you. No singing experience is necessary, you do not need to read music and there is no audition. Simply
turn up and join in. We are a friendly and welcoming group
and we sing just for the joy of it. More details are available from

5.30pm PLEASE NOTE - On police advice, the torch light procession will now start at the Green, proceed through Dovecote Farm and then over the fields to the bonfire.

Sunday, November 11th Please be aware that the Remembrance Day Parade will proceed down Loughbon to the Green between 10.30 and 10.45 on Sunday morning. The road will therefore be closed for this short period of time. Stewards will be in place to facilitate residents need for access and exit should it be required, and procedures are in place should emergency access be required. Obviously there may be some temporary disruption to traffic, so we would ask everyone to be understanding and tolerant at this solemn time.
Orston’s ready for Remembrance Day. Will Gunn has done it again! What a wonderful tribute our phone box makes. He has also made a commemorative bench which will be placed in the churchyard.
